11 Night Eastern Mediterranean (Rome Roundtrip)
Sail Date: April 30, 2012
Ship: Celebrity Equinox
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Couple
Reviewed: 5 years ago
The ship is very sleek and modern, very open in design with a central atrium where musical combos, the amazing quartet Top Shelf, and the dance band frequently perform which allowed us to see and enjoy the entertainment from several venues on several decks of the ship.
The theater is very large, with only a very few bad seats. The sky lounge is lovely and large which makes it a popular venue for late night dancing and entertainment.
We don't gamble, so we like that we can move through the ship without having to pass through the casino.
The casual Oceanview Cafe, the main Silhouette dining room, and the specialty restaurants afford wonderful meals and great service in attractive surroundings with friendly staff.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The Silhouette Dining room offers a sophisticated menu with great steaks, lamb, veal, seafood, and chicken dishes. Vegetarean choices are also worth trying.
The Oceanview cafe offers great food in an informal setting. If you are craving a hamburger, the Mast Bar by the pool is the place to go. And the Tuscan Grille offers romantic dining in a cozy venue. We watched dolphins play in the Ships wake and the sunset while we dined.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Most were excellent. We enjoyed the large stage productions, and especially the magician and the juggler. There was truly something for everyone. We also enjoyed the small venue entertainers, especially the quartet Top Shelf.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Friendly service is the hallmark of celebrity. Every employee we met during the day greeted us with a smile and a plesantry. Our waitstaff knew our preferences and made informative suggestions about the menu choices. Our stateroom attendants took excellent care of us, even gently redirecting me when I would venture in the wrong direction when going to the theater before I became familiar with the ship.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Sleek and modern. The Central Atrium and Grand Foyer allows one to experience the nightly entertainment from several decks and several venues. Sparklingly clean and comfortably appointed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The design allows for plenty of storage in both the bath and stateroom. Ample closet space. We could move around in our balcony stateroom without feeling cramped.

Pros: The varied ports of call that ranged from chic modern cities to the cradle of civilization, ports of Biblical significance and exotic places.

Cons: Wish we had had longer in Athens.
