Review summary

I’ve sailed many many times, with lots of different companies, but Celebrity Edge in the Retreat was outstanding. It isn’t something we could do all the time because of the cost, but a fabulous treat.

Embarkation

In the Retreat, boarding was a breeze and you go to a lounge instead of a holding area.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We booked suites so had our own dining room which couldn’t be faulted. Illuminea is far superior to RC Coastal Kitchen. We ate in most of the speciality restaurants too, all were very good.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pool was lovely and plenty of places to sit

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Amazing. The cruise director and captain were a great double act. The singing/dance troupe were very modern and great guest entertainers too

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top notch

Ship Quality

Can’t fault it. Loved every minute.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Could have done with a bigger wardrobe but we managed for 21 days back to back. I have been in bigger suites but it was comfortable enough with a fair size balcony.

Ports of call

Castries, St. Lucia

We didn’t do much

Bridgetown, Barbados

The taxi drivers said the main beach that people go to was packed so they took us to the one closest. It was ok and we had lunch in a good little place.

Basseterre, St. Kitts

We did the train journey once before do this time we took a taxi around the island. You don’t have to share your taxi, negotiate a price

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5
Embarkation was very good. We waited until the quest died down

St. John's, Antigua

3 out of 5
Much prefer the other dock to St John’s

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
A breeze through the dedicated Celebrity berth in Fort Lauderdale. Just walk pass the camera and that’s immigration done.
