Review summary

Overall, we loved this vacation and would happily sail on the Edge again. That said, we also love the Solstice class ships and the more traditional experience.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Quick and easy embarkation. There was a small issue looking up information we had already entered and we had to fill out a form again, but no big deal. Greeted cheerfully by the shipboard crew. There was an issue with our drink packages not showing up on our sea passes which made me have to stand in line to get it fixed. Then we found out the internet package we had wasn't applied to our room and we had to stand in line again for that. Not THAT big of a deal, but annoying to start your vacation that way.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Buffet quality was honestly pretty bad. Cold cuts were truly gross and all we wanted was some bread and cold cuts so that was frustrating. The MDRs (There are four divided up by theme) were all pretty good though I honestly missed the larger MDR on Equinox. We really enjoyed Le Petit Chef. Great food with a cute show. Other specialty restuaraunts were solid. Eden was an absolute star of the show. PHENOMENAL food and service. Beautiful venue.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We paid for a cabana two of the sea days. It was WELL worth the cost to have such a lovely place reserved near the pools. Some have complained that the cabanas don't have a pool view. We didn't mind at all. In fact more privacy made the experience more luxurious. The spa was great except the dry sauna wasn't hot enough at all. The rest of the spa suite was wonderful.

Entertainment

Good shows overall. Nothing mind blowingly good, but solid experience overall.

Children's Programs

2 out of 5
Kids club was really not well done. That's probably because there were so few children on board, but even so, our kids hated going down there. We sent them once and they begged us to not take them again. No big deal. They are pretty quiet and laid back and so they just hung out with us for the most part.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Kind staff. Room steward was on not as on top of things as usual with Celebrity. We had empty bath amenities upon boarding and it was a pain to have to find that out while we were already in the shower. Had to stop, get out, call the desk for more, and get back in. That's simple stuff that shouldn't happen. After that, the experience was generally very good.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
OMG what a gorgeous facility.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great infinite veranda cabin. Clean and quiet. The showerhead did snap off at one point which was odd, but they replaced it quickly. I'm not sure if all of the infinite veranda windows move as slowly as ours did, but it was slow to move and a bit noisy. I think I prefer the traditional veranda experience, but it was nice to have the extra room.
