Review summary

During this time of Covid - we knew we were taking a chance - But we went on a Viking Ocean Cruise in Aug and with the precautions they had we felt it would be worth it ( we were celebrating with our son an his new fiancé) BUT Celebrity’s No Masks Required on the Ship was ridiculous! Safety was not what was observed and for this reason I would Not recommend spending all the money Plus the Extra Costs to enjoy the multiple specialty dining! Take a better Cruise line that cares more to keep everyone safe & cruising. So disappointed!

Specialty Restaurants are Wonderful- But this ship is all about spending extra! Most are additional $55 per person each restaurant. So you are tempted with these wonderful experiences - but on avg for we spent $250 per person to enjoy these specialty dining. Why not just charge more for cruise so your not having to pay each time!

Onboard Activities

We were in Retreat so Pool experience was nice - our adult child were not and the pool was so over crowded they could not get chairs. During Covid- thought ships were not supposed to be full? Worst pool experience we have seen on a ship!

Some Good Entertainment and Some Bad New Years Eve in our favorite bar Eden had a trio that music was such a downer - very disappointing

Service and Staff

Our room steward Rusian was Great and all service people in restaurants were Great - But not enough help in all the bars. You waited forever to get drinks. So purchasing the “premium liquor package “ is good - you just have to wait for much longer to be served

Bed - extremely comfortable/ because the cost for cruise during holiday we decided to not get larger suite as we usually do ( cost was double price ) - but we felt this was very spacious for what we were expecting. Layout is very good

Ship tip

Only do Retreat if you want to enjoy pool - set up reservations prior in specialty dining. The Raw on 5 is wonderful & Steakhouse food is incredible ! Eden a really nice experience! But the Pizza in the back of the Cafe at night till 1:00am is the best and you don’t have to pay extra! Room Service is the worst
