Awkward and boring ship. Some ports are ok if you do excursions. Some shows are ok and the food is good, but the ship doesn’t have a lot to offer, only a few activities or amenities, The ship design is bad in its layout. I would also say that around 85% of people were 65+. Lots of walkers and scooters around. The boat might not be too fun for younger passengers, I am in my 40’s, a very layback type of person, and still was bored. I didn't see fun spots for kids either. I have been In 20+ cruise ship and this one stood out for its poor layout and boring atmosphere.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was very good at the buffet and main dining. But dinner takes long to arrive. Also, the drink package ($20 daily) did not deliver was promised when it was paid for.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
The boat offers few activities. Not many amenities around. It offers lots of pretty sitting rooms and weird art. For the money I expected something way better than what I have got. I recommend the Oasis of the Seas for a better experience. If traveling with kids I recommend Disney cruises.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
A couple of shows were ok. The singers were good. One was great. The performers were young and energetic. The old comedian for adults was very good too. Other shows were very bad, like the Eden.
Children's Programs
I did not come with kids but I didn’t see many amenities for them.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
The dining room staff was great, others staff were also courteous. But I did not like that I was “required” to let the steward come to my room at least once a day to clean. If I don’t require the services I don’t like them to be forced on me, with the excuse that they need to “sanitize”. The person next to me was coughing all the time and I didn’t want the steward to bring me their germs, my personal and valuable items were on sight and didn't want to be putting them away when not necessary. Also upon arrival I requested to be changed for another room for the lack of privacy in mine but the guests service (Rita) told me I should have google the cabin before, and that if she change everyone who complains she would have to do so with as many as 16 people with cabins like mine.
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Ship cleanliness is A+, but the ship design Is very bad. The balconies are designed flushed and your view is of the life boats instead of the water below. Also the “floating bar” pass in front of many balconies invading privacy. I had one of those rooms, and I had to keep my veranda closed in fear of lack of privacy. I paid full balcony price for that room, and didn’t know the room until it was assigned to me later because I bought it as a “guarantee balcony”. Tru Expedia.
Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin (6196) has an obstructed view. From the veranda to your left it has someone’s balcony blocking your view to the left and part of the front. Below it has a working station. To the right below it has life boats. I couldn’t see the water below. Upon arrival I asked to be switch to any other cabin because of lack of privacy, but they refused saying that I should have google the cabin before. In the room plan it doesn’t show the obstructions.
Very nice port. There is a pharmacy right in front. Also restaurants and hand crafts. I had the privilege to see the biggest sailing yacht in the world right next to us in that port. I also took a water taxi called “la paseadora” in the afternoon and I got some amazing pictures of the sunset from the water.
I agree, it’s a beautiful ship, but boring. If you like to eat, drink, and nap, it’s perfect. Otherwise, not a lot of activities. I like the line dancing lessons, bingo, towel animal making, etc. To me, that’s part of the fun.
I’m currently on in a sky suite along the magic carpet’s track. Nobody is on when it’s moving. We have a big side window off our balcony and it is a beautiful view. It doesn’t bother me at all to be in this location, I love it.
The magic carpet do moves up as you can see in the picture I posted, but I don’t know with who inside . I did not like leaving it open after that to find out.
The Magic Carpet never moves with people on it for safety reasons. So people would not be passing by your veranda and peeking in. But that cabin to your left with the big side window? Yeah that sucks. For you and them.
I paid the full price for balcony. When buying thru Expedia sometimes it is processed under (guarantee balcony) and the room is assigned later. The map layout didn’t specify the obstruction, if any. Upon arrival I asked to be switched to any other room even an interior but was told they were all full. I have stayed in 20+ cruises and this room was one of the most “privacy invading” of them. Because of the “magic carpet” that passes right in front of our room (might with dozen of people) and because of the balconies looking to our veranda to our left. My review was not clouded by my experience with the cabin though. I have specified that the shows, food and steward services were great. Also embarkation. What was really bad was the ship layout, and activities.
Could it be that your experience was tainted because they couldn't move you to an unobstructed view veranda? Certainly you got a big discount for the obstructed view. Sure they didn't tell you how obstructed the view was but you took it anyway. Don't ever expect to move to a more expensive room. They don't have extra rooms for people who want more "privacy"
