Although we enjoyed the cruise, I think that there may have been a few too many minuses for us to be excited about it. From the so-so offerings in the main dining rooms, to the inability to cook a steak medium rare, and the overuse of garlic and butter (even in the scrambled eggs!). I'd have to rate the food in the lower category of experiences I've had on other ships.
The ports were good, the staff were incredible, and the ship handled the rough seas with ease. All in all I would not rule out another cruise on the Edge, but probably not for another couple of years.
Embarkation

Well organized with helpful staff all around to point you in the right direction. No choke points to slow down the process
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Nice feature to break up the main dining room into four distinct smaller dining rooms, but why not offer a more distinct menu in each? Visited one specialty restaurant and was disappointed, so stayed away from wasting any more money on another. We ordered the Tomahawk (for 2) and the lobster. The lobster was so doused in butter that the flavor of the lobster was overwhelmed and our medium rare steak was grey, tasteless, and juiceless. It seemed that every dining room prepared their vegetables with butter and garlic (over abundantly). I thought the buffet was fine with a nice variety and different options for all tastes.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Didn't notice a whole lot of 'onboard activities', but the absence of Bingo was noticeable and the replacement was not only expensive but too quick and if you happen to win one of the smaller audience prizes, it was in the form of a credit on your sea pass to be redeemed in the casino (not our favorite spot). We don't hang at the pool too often, but they did have a fun, spirited volleyball game on our last sea day. The fitness center was excellent, but it seemed that every 'seminar' turned into a sales pitch for one thing or another
Entertainment
5 out of 5
The shows were well staged and imaginative - very enjoyable. The DJs and musicians all did a great job as they rotated to different venues on the ship
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
From the room steward to the waiters to the random staff people you run into in the hallways and common areas - nothing but class!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Except for the 'flying carpet', pretty standard layout. Staff did a great job keeping the ship well maintained and clean (without being disruptive).
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Room steward was just great. Not a big fan of the new Infinite Veranda concept - maybe because its new and I need to adjust to it, but we prefer to open a door to a balcony and be separate from the bedroom. Opening a large (slow) window and closing a bi-fold glass door (while juggling furniture) just doesn't cut it. Also, when that window is fully opened, you have to get out of your chair to see any ocean life out there unless your 7 feet tall.
Ship tip
Go with an open mind and try to embrace what they're trying to accomplish
Pretty standard stuff, but was impressed at how quickly and efficiently they got everyone off the ship, and how they pointed people in the right direction once they were off
