Review summary

Thought the maiden voyage experience would make a difference but it simply reinforced our opinion that Celebrity is not for us. We will be loyal Royal Caribbean passengers from here on out. Shipboard entertainment was lacking and ports of call were not the best - with the exception of San Juan. Just a big disappointment.

Embarkation

Used the app so it was exceptionally easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Took some getting used to with the four restaurant venues but once we got that figured out, it was great.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Used the solarium pool and the fitness center but not much else. The daily activity offerings were very slim and not enticing.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
Sound system was horrible (couldn't hear narrator, soloists) and the programs were too avant guard for our tastes. One show was very politically motivated ("gender equality" and diversity). With the exception of the comedian and the show when Ashlie Amber sang, we left early on every single one.

Children's Programs

didn't have children on board.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The dining room hostess in Normandie, Gynna, was outstanding in working out our seating each night. Almost everyone was friendly and very helpful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Brand new so sparkling and clean!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Loved the design of the balcony! Gives extra floor space and the cabin feels very roomy. Lots of extra storage areas that we didn't even need. Closet space is a little chintzy. Bathroom was bigger.

Ship tip

We booked our reservations (we were Select Dining) ahead and that helped.

Ports of call

San Juan, Puerto Rico

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
We booked transfers through Celebrity to and from the airport. For some reason, we had to sit on the bus (not sure if the driver was waiting for it to fill up?) for over an hour. But we weren't in a hurry to make our plane so it was fine.

It was my very cruise ever and I had a great experience. I stayed in a infinite veranda room. I’m sorry about your experience.

Too bad. I'm hearing really great things about the Edge. Did you guys go to Eden restaurant?
