A fun cruise highlighted by seeing the northern lights.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Easy and quick despite one temperamental escalator.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
For the most part food at the MDR and Oceanview Cafe was well presented and tasted very good. We enjoyed the theme lunches (Italian, U.K., German, Mexican) served daily in the cafe.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Loads of activities to satisfy just about anyone. On sea days a different activity occurred every 15 minutes.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We enjoyed going to the nightly headliner shows. Most were pretty good, but the comedian was disappointing. The four production shows starring the ship’s singers and dancers were hit or miss with two of the four being really good. Live music could be found throughout the ship nightly.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Excellent service provided by all staff members we encountered especially our room steward, MDR staff, bar servers, and guest relations personnel!
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Older ship, but well maintained. Staff members were constantly cleaning the ship and maintaining public venues and bathrooms. We had a veranda room # 8341 which was very comfortable for the two of us, but could increase storage space with an upgrade of existing shelves and cabinets.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Average veranda room comfortable for two persons. Bathroom was very adequate. We slept well and were unaware of ship noises. Room steward, Anak, maintained the room in great condition with two room visits daily. Cabinetry should be updated to increase storage space.
Ship tip
Dining space for the Oceanside Cafe is always available in the outside aft section. Also, a great place to have a beverage and enjoy the wake view.
We arrived three days early and had a great time eating, drinking, and sightseeing in Boston. We stayed at the Hyatt Place / Seaport District. It was a ten minute walk to the cruise terminal and very convenient to restaurants, breweries, and historic sites. Boston is a fun city to cruise from!
Rural area was excellent for fall foliage viewing. We visited a Living History Village which explained the immigration to and settlement of this area by the Scots and Irish.
Beautiful city and easily accessible from the port. We were in Quebec for two days an did a walking excursion through old town on Day 1 and a bus tour excursion to a maple sugar shack and the waterfalls on Day 2. Both excursions were booked through the ship and left us free time to explore more of the city.
