Review summary

This was our second Celebrity cruise and we were not disappointed. We had been to many of the ports, but not Astoria. We were active on the sea days, and enjoyed ourselves. We had a friend with us who had never been on a cruise, and he told us he would definitely go on another one. Everyone on the ship was very nice. The ship was not too large, so we were able to learn the layout fairly easily.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth embarkation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food was very good, and there were no shortages. The buffet was a bit chaotic to find seating, but we managed to find someplace. Ate at the Tuscan Grille and Sushi on Five specialty restaurants and everything was delicious. Enjoyed the two occasions when we went to the main dining room -- everyone was very attentive.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Enjoyed all the trivia games, game shows, dance classes, and even took a glass blowing class.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the Topper show. The singers were fantastic. The dancers were great. It even had some acrobatics, which we had never seen on a ship before. The ship's band was very talented.

Children's Programs

No children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward was so attentive and put us at ease immediately. It was our first cruise after lockdown, so we were a bit nervous. The waiters were eager to please. The activity personnel were fun and engaging.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was easy to navigate and there were directions at elevators, on the elevators, and near stairs to help you find your way. Everything was well maintained and clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed having a balcony cabin. We sat on the balcony several times during the trip and read our books or had a glass of wine. The bathroom wasn't very large, but we were able to move around it well enough. The bed was very comfortable. We both sleep well each night.

Ship tip

Get a balcony cabin and spoil yourself. We also made sure we got a cabin on the side of the ship that would have the best views (may vary based on direction) and that really added to the trip.

Ports of call

Vancouver (Canada Place), British Columbia

5 out of 5
This was where we boarded the ship, but it was nice to walk around Vancouver before getting onboard. The weather fluctuated between cool and rainy, but it was still fun to explore the area.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
We didn't do an excursion in Victoria, but we walked around town. We ate at Bard and Banker downtown, which was recommended by a local. The food was delicious. The weather was great -- cool, but not rainy. We've been there many times and always like walking around the harbor area.

Seattle, Washington

4 out of 5
We had been to Seattle many times, so we decided to do an excursion to Snoqualmie Falls, which was outside of Seattle. Wow! It was gorgeous. So glad we did this. I would have rated this one higher if it weren't for the terrible experience of going through customs, which wasn't the fault of Celebrity. However, our trip to the falls was cut short since we had to spend so much time getting through customs. I would have liked to have walked around more at Snoqualmie Falls.

Astoria, Oregon

4 out of 5
We went on the Shot in Astoria excursion, which was fairly interesting. However, we weren't able to see some of the sights (house from the Goonies) very well from the tour bus. We had wanted to eat downtown after our tour, but couldn't really find any place to eat. (Our fault, we left the map in our cabin.)

San Francisco, California

5 out of 5
Really enjoyed the Alcatraz portion of our excursion. The Sausalito part wasn't as interesting since it was mainly for those who like to shop. The microphone wasn't working well on the tour bus, so we missed some of the talk. We were also taken through The Presidio, which was very interesting. After returning from Alcatraz, we walked down to Pier 39 to try to find the seals. Due to time constraints, we didn't find them. I would have liked to have had enough time to visit Fisherman's Wharf to visit Ghirardelli Square.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

5 out of 5
This is where we disembarked, so there's not much to report. We didn't do any excursions post-cruise.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was an easy experience.
