Review summary

Celebrity took away our $400 onboard credit. Will never cruise with them again.

Embarkation

1 out of 5
Embarrassing. A young associate asked to see our NZ visas and shook her head and shuffled us to a table where she said the visas weren’t ok. After the new person checked them, they were of course more than adequate. So the first associate said ‘Aren’t you thrilled you can get off the ship at the ports in NZ? We were not impressed!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was adequate but after the 1st night we never returned to our dinner sitting; sick of being called Miss Diana & Mr Eric!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools were rather chilly.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not top drawer.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room steward was constantly using a VERY loud voice and had constant nervous laughter.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Liked the elevators up the middle.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Big for an inside cabin.

Wow! Just wow!

That’s the strangest complaint I’ve ever heard about MDR service, not to mention a room steward.

How did you lose the obc?

Oops sorry 😞

Live2TravelNow, you may want to check the New Zealand immigration site. A passport and either NZeTA or VISA appear to be required for short term visits like a cruise ship.

Last time i checked US citizens do not need a Visa for New Zealand. Australia you do.

Glad you had over a three star experience. That’s about the best you can expect these days. Unless you are over 80, I’m not sure why anyone would be upset about a person, addressing them by Mr. or Miss, and using their first name.

One meal of the service staff being polite and you never tried to ask them to be informal California style or to be New York formal and use your last names (with appropriate mr, miss, mrs, ms, or other politically correct honorific), just left in a hateful huff? And WHY did you lose $400 OBC? A rebooking? Some criteria not meet? Booking agent mistake? What was wrong with the room? Too big from your comment.
