Review summary

We were on the Eclipse's 2nd cruise after return from covid shut down. The 1st cuise and ours lost a 1 day in port, but gained a sea day. The cruise after ours is having their port time cut in half. And the 4th cruise ofseason has been cancel. This is all because Celebrity didn't realize a Barnacle problem would slow the ship from 22 knots to 15 knots. Captain Leo told us they did clean the sides below the water line before starting to sail but couldn't do the bottom because of environmental concerns. Ship has to go to dry dock May 22th.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Main Dinning was very good. Buffet ok. Pool Grill burgers are the best. Don't know why a simple burger is so good.

Onboard Activities

Cruise Director Sue is the best. Her assistant Christi will be a great Cruise Director someday. Lots of stuff going on during sea days. Egg drop always fun.

Entertainment

After 11 cruises this cruise was the best. They had a lot of professional acts.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Stateroom attendant was great. Main Dinning waiter and assistant also great. Lots of new staff. Eclipse normally has about 1400 staff and 2800 passengers. This cruise had about 900 staff and 1700 passengers.

Celebrity's answer for covid test for passengers returning to USA. 2 hotels by port offer test $75 to $130. Or make appointment with CMV Medical at Vancouver Airport $23.95 which we did. Easy and took 30 to 45 minutes. Or do eMED online for $24.50, they you could do the eMED at airport, in taxi or bus. Apparently they never tried to take the eMED. We watch people struggle with it at airport.
