Review summary

I loved the overall cruise. It was great to spend time with friends in that setting. The excursions were good and after the bugs were worked out for disembarking for them, the experience was very nice. Best salmon I ever ate was that served in Iceland, and I don't like salmon. I enjoyed the live musicians on the cruise. Michael Redden and Enrico Cifello were my favorite. The band was wonderful. Our dinner in the Tuscan Grill was fantastic. The food and the service and the extra attention for our special occasions were outstanding. Our stateroom was nice and roomy and had the world's best shower in it! I wish the bed had been as nice.

Food and Dining

I enjoyed the meals offered in the main dining room and the Tuscan Grill. The buffets were ok, but the scrambled eggs needed a little more cooking...they were runny. The variety was very nice.

Service and Staff

We had great service from our waiter Manolo, Cho, Savas, and Dino. Could not have asked for better. We did have issues with our dinner reservations most nights because communication between what we were told and what the ship did about seating was messed up. We had to have Augustino see to our table every evening. The receptionists were of little help and argued or were rude to people who presented issues. This was something we were not happy to see from Celebrity and it may be a big reason we will look elsewhere for our next cruise. Our room stewards were great and Lila in the Oceanview area watched over us like a mama.

We went early on our own to enjoy this city. It was a nice place to see.

We did a Black Cab tour to see and better understand the conflicts we heard so much about growing up. It was fascinating. Our guide Benny really brought it all to life.

Wonderful port. We took the Golden Circle tour where we were served an excellent salmon meal. It was a nice overview of the landscape and living conditions there. I wish the bus had let us off at the top of walk in the National Park so I could have walked downhill. My knees could not do the uphill walk and it was the one place I was really wanting to see. The next morning we toured the city on our own. It is a lovely place. I wish our guide had been a little more fluent in English. It think that was a bit of a disadvantage for her. She knew her stuff but the language issue seemed to get in her way.

We did whale watching at this port. So glad we got to see Victoria.

It was nice to be greeted by the Norsemen on the pier. We went to see the ponies and toured the countryside on the way. We then had a nice time wandering and shopping along the main street. Lunch at the Fort Cafe and Take Away was delicious! I did have nightmares about getting out of the tender boat after reading the information about them and the need to step up. Fortunately it was no problem for me.

Cobh (Cork), Ireland

We went to Kinsale. I wish we had had more time there. It was a lovely place and there was so much to see and do. Our guide was fantastic and so knowledgable about the areas we traveled through.
