Great cruise for our first time in Europe. Recommend highly.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Sushi restaurant very good. Oceanview Cafe had very good variety of food. Main dining good food also. One oddity was that a featured wine on the menu, Carmenere, they were out of even on the first night. How do you feature a wine for the entire week and then not have any available?
Onboard Activities

Entertainment

The primary singers had fantastic voices but I don’t think the cruise really showcased them enough. Other shows, including a comedian fell flat. We walked out of Elyria, an adults only show one night. My wife and I didn’t care for the themes.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Service and staff overall was very good. The only real issue we had was in the main dining on the first two nights. Service was very spotty and we asked to be moved to a different section, which they accommodated without question.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Most of the ship had an upscale feel to it. Common areas were clean and maintained
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin itself was fine, although I paid for concierge level and not sure it was worth the extra expense. Cabin was about the same size as RC cruises that I’ve done.
Did the Rome in a Day excursion. Lots of walking. I was surprised at how unclean Rome was. The Colosseum and other ruins were interesting, as well as the Vatican, but I don’t see a reason to go back to Rome. Tour guide was okay
My wife and I got off the boat and took the water taxi into Toulon. We had a great time walking and shopping. Toulon is a very cool city. Ate some great food and bought some great gifts. Le Comptoir de Mathilde is a neat chocolate and food shop in Toulon
Did the Lucca and Pisa tour. Our guide for this trip simply talked too much. Also, the way both of these cities are arranged, we were dropped off by the bus a long way from both places. Consequently, there was a tremendous amount of walking in the heat. Both cities are very interesting, but the incessant talking and too much walking was a negative
We didn’t do an excursion but simply got off the boat and took a taxi into town. Walked around a bit and had a good time exploring. Ate at Brasserie on 7 restaurant, which Was okay but not worth the cost
Did Blue Cave excursion. Lots of fun but the boat ride to the cave was long and uncomfortable. Unrelated, but we had a male passenger on the excursion who wore a g-string bathing suit and that’s something you can’t unsee
The LGBT flag Celebrity Cruises fly at the front of their ships as well as their social media exploitation of related themes should have given away what kind of passengers you're likely to meet on board. Funny that they don't seem to notice that they're being exploited.
