First cruise ever, so we didn't quite know what to expect, although online videos and tips were helpful. Pleasantly surprised by the reduced passenger load, yet no reduction in service, resulting in enjoyable experiences throughout. Staff members are experienced, knowledgeable, personable and entertaining!
Embarkation

We had not been informed that the negative result document from the Covid-19 test administered by our hospital was required to show birth dates. This resulted in nearly an extra hour's worth of work, and there was no seating available during this process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The taste and presentation were excellent. Impressive variety. There were many unique and delightful offerings. Some portions were rather large.
The premium non-alcoholic beverage package was great. However, it would be good to have separate drink menus with more extensive suggested non-alcoholic beverages since we are unfamiliar with all the possibilities.
One suggestion: perhaps a bottle of some fine sparkling non-alcoholic beverage could be made available for those occasions where a bottle of champagne or wine would be offered, but the guest has the premium non-alcoholic package.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Indoor archery competition, Pictionary game, Captain's welcome party for first timers, pools and hot tubs, ping pong, fitness center, some poolside games. Air in spa gas jets felt cold; could probably be heated. Pools were very relaxing and never crowded. The fitness center had great equipment and classes; trainers and classes were entertaining and helpful. Went to fitness center every day before enjoying all the great food and drink! Games and competitions were fun, but we felt bad that the cryptogram activity mentioned on the cruise booking page was not available. Most everything we participated in was well-planned and enjoyable. The stargazing event was an interesting new addition with great potential that just needs a little additional content and refinement.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We attended the choreographed hit-song musical presentation, the Latin music and dance night, the female violin performer and Kiev Strings. There seemed to be good music available most of the time in various parts of the ship. The entertainers were interesting and professional.
Children's Programs
There were no children in our group.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone was helpful, knowledgeable and resourceful. Service was excellent, personalized and entertaining.
When one of our shore excursions was cancelled, the staff immediately sent a letter of apology and suggestions for substitute excursions. This was accompanied by a bottle of champagne or wine--very nice gesture. Since we don't drink alcohol, we gave this to our room steward. Staff members were very quick in booking our replacement excursion and adjusting the payment.
Ship Quality

Didn't enjoy walking through casino to get to other areas of the ship, but we understand that's just a feature of the layout. Most areas were easily accessible except for a couple of fore and aft areas where elevator and stairs did not connect to the staterooms.
The ship is a floating art museum! There are interesting sculptures, paintings and other types of art everywhere.
Cabin / Stateroom

Great amenities given the available space. The room felt welcoming and spacious. The veranda is nice. Perhaps cushions could be made available so short people can see over the railing while sitting on the veranda.
Ship tip
The dress code is reasonable, and there's no need to bring a big wardrobe.
Our original shore excursion was cancelled, so we substituted the excursion featuring a bus trip to El Morro, the avenue of the Presidents and a small downtown shopping area on the water. El Morro was interesting, but we felt that there might have been more interesting sights to see in San Juan than the particular downtown area we were taken to.
We took the Plane Spotting at Maho Beach excursion. The area was crowded, probably because of the six other cruise ships at this port at the same time, so it was nearly impossible to get onto the beach for the best view of aircraft on final approach.
The food at the Sunset Bar was good and had local flair.
The excursion by rail and sea was great! Very interesting narration, local dancers and good beverages on the train; great view from the open deck. The powered catamaran ride was a real treat as well-- nice snack and conversation with other passengers, great ride and view up on the bow area.
