No regrets about going, but the somberest of all the ports of call. Maybe it is the history of the place, or the great divide between rich and poor. It is worth seeing all those landmarks once, but it is not the top of my list for places to revisit. That said, don't miss it, and don't go independently. Take a tour. it is too spread out. Our tour guides, both days, were terrific.

We had low expectations for this port, but it turned out to be a lot more that people had described. We opted for a tour of the Spit, so we hiked there and llistened to tales of witches. It was fun, and nice to walk for a bit on land. Otherwise, the main town doesn't offer as much as other places, unless you are happy to shop, drink beer and ieat local food. This is not a usual port of call, I understand, rather one that replaced Oslo, Norway, which we would have like to have visited.
We ventured out independently in the morning and weren't terribly impressed, but also not disappointed. Then we took a walking tour in the afternoon, and the city really impressed us.
Lovely city. We hooked up with a local, who, among other things, took us into the indoor food market, where the locals seem to shop and eat. It was a great experience.
