Review summary

I hope the experience on the Ascent will be spread throughout the fleet, as this was an almost perfect cruise. Big shout out to Captain Dimitre, as he's the best captain. Sense of humor and very intelligent. Glad all of the people in the infinity pool liked the music, as we all had a blast, and thank you for the appreciation.

The steakhouse is brilliant, but you need to be very hungry, as large steaks. The buffet is brilliant, as it was on Beyond. The pizza is the only late-night option, so it's a savior. Bar's brilliant as always.

Onboard Activities

Not a lot going on in the day times, but I made the best of it at one of the infinity pools. All had a great time due to the music.

Entertainment

This is where I have written problems up with Celebrity up to this point, but it appears the powers at be have read my reviews and fixed the problems, as the entertainment was brilliant. Prior to this cruise, the DJ's had no idea as to how to read the crowd, nor did most of the bands, but on the Ascent, the DJ's were playing the music the crowd wanted to hear, in all of the venues that I visited and the bands, for the most part, were able to play great music without the need of having iPads in front of them the entire time. In short, people were having a great time, be it at the Martini Bar, the Disco and at the Sunset Bar. To the person who fixed this, I thank you.

Service and Staff

The staff did all they could to make sure the customers were having a good time, especially when it came to the pool and the drink issue, as far as drinks not allowed in the pools. This is an unwritten rule with the entire fleet, but the staff backed down a bit and delivered the drinks to chairs around the pools, so the customers could just go get the drinks from the chairs. Some people told me they would never sail on the line again due to this unwritten rule.

The ship is outstanding, like the Beyond. The best cruise I have ever been on.
