Wonderful cruise on a newer ship, with excellent service and food, as expected from Celebrity. We saw things that we had never seen and experience 4 seasons of weather. Sun, rain. wind, cold and snow in the mountains of Iceland. Well worth the trip!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very smooth. Got there early, gave our luggage to the porter, walked into the terminal. /as soon as the ship was ready, we boarded right away.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
MDR was very good. Food quality above most ships. the buffet was one of the best we've had.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
On board activities were ok. Could of done a bit more variety. Due to weather, anything outdoors could not be done.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Stage shows and main acts were excellent, 5 Stars. However, music acts at the various venues were mediocre.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Staff was very friendly and always willing to help. Room steward was excellent, kept room spotless. MDR wait staff is very good.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Best Celebrity ship we have been on. they finally have more comfortable seating, layout is easy to maneuver. Bathroom was room and the shower great. Only thing lacking is that we could of used more closet storage space.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was very roomy. Roomy bathroom and shower for a ship. Steward kept our room clean, coming twice a day.
Ship tip
Get to the shows early if you want to get a seat. Same for the game shows.
We did an excursion with another vendor. Prices are much better than those offered by Celebrity. Highlight was seeing where the North America/Eurasia Tectonic plates met.
Port was small but very nice. Isafjordur is a small fishing village but the sites are beautiful. We took an excursion with an independent. Again, cost is much less and you see the same things, are safe and save money.
A very welcoming port. We also did an excursion here with an independent. Weather was cold and wet butt the sites were wonderful. The waterfalls are just gorgeous.
Cute little town. They have a local bus transport from the port to the city center for free. We strolled around the town and did some shopping. The Cathedral is beautiful and worth seeing.
Since we had an early transport from Southampton to Heathrow, we walked off the ship with our luggage. Very smooth, off the ship before 7:00 am. No lines, no shoving and pushing like some other ships we have been on.
Thanks for the detailed review, can you confirm if the Captain's Club happy hour now includes embarkation day? I've read this via online posts and seen at least one cruise blogger mention it. I can't find anything to confirm on any official Celebrity site
