This was my 23rd cruise with carnival and it did not disappoint. Overall we thought the shop layout was great and the cruise Director did a great job. There are so many activities you will only get bored if you try. We were very pleased with our trip. On a last note I do appreciate that the anti-narcotic dogs are doing their job as we were able to enjoy our balcony smell free for the entire seven days.

They are currently doing construction at the port in anticipation of the arrival of the Jubilee. Overall a fairly quick check-in process. Checkin time of 10:00am and on board around 11:15.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Good food and good service. We enjoyed the specialty dining at Bonsai, Fahrenheit 555, Cucina and JiJi. Main dining room “new” menu has many previous dishes with some new.
JiJi Asian Kitchen

I must get five stars, simply for the excellent food. The service was not as good as we found in other venues. The food is served family style. Make sure you come hungry.
Cucina Del Capitano

This was by far the best meal we had on the entire trip. The chef even edited a menu item for my taste. Overall, we were very pleased and will eat here again.
Onboard Activities

There really is something for everyone on the ship.
Entertainment

Good performers throughout the ship. TJ does a great job. Comedians are hit or miss as everyone has a different style.
Service and Staff

Many were great and others are just overworked. Our room steward did his job but he didn’t have time to go above and beyond.
Ship Quality

Love the layout and will be back on the ship. Yes, the ship needs to dry dock (which is scheduled soon). There were some warm areas and some smelly, but nothing to ruin your day. We really felt this ship was the best of both worlds. It is not as large as the mega ships, but it has anything you could want.
Cabin / Stateroom

Good location and all worked in the room. Directly below this room, there is a slight area that jets out below. Therefore, the view is slightly obstructed.
We visited the Lamanai ruins through a carnival excursion. The excursion included a one hour bus ride, followed by a 20 minute ride in a river boat. Once we arrived at the ruins, we saw three large temples, and were allowed to climb on two of them. The only negative of the excursion was that many people did not realize it is a fairly strenuous activity.
Port of Galveston again is not as organized as others. We didn’t even completely dock until 7am and the port security was rude when it is not necessary.
