While the Vista is not my favorite ship, we had a really great time, and I always will recommend a Carnival cruise, regardless of the vessel.

I’ve been on this ship before, and the food in the main Dining Room was surprisingly good this time. Unfortunately, did not really enjoy our experiences at the Alchemy bar on this ship very much.

The staff was not as friendly as on other carnival ships I have been on, but I certainly cannot say they were rude or inattentive. Just not as outgoing and friendly.
Ship Quality

While the ship was clean, this is absolutely my least favorite class of Carnival ship. I find the layout to be too choppy, the night club isn’t really a night club, and I miss the days of the long promenade. That was the energy of the ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

NON-SMOKERS BEWARE! This cabin is right above the smoking section on the lanai below. If you are not a smoker, I do not recommend this cabin at all.
Ship tip
Choose a balcony cabin on deck 7 or 8. Deck 6 is right above the Lanai and limits stateroom and balcony privacy, and deck 9 is right below the Lido deck (unless you are 9 Forward) which can be loud. Having been on this and similar ships many times, Deck 8 is my preference for a balcony.
