Review summary

It was a dream come true. Our first ever cruise. We have been together 23 years now, and had never been able to do a vacation. Not a real one. So we all loved it. Being able to experience it with our kids, before they were all grown was so special. But they were all old enough that Hubby and I had many moments together. Romantic morning sunrises with specialty coffees. Romantic evenings watching the sun set. Watching him relax. It was so great. Goi g to the Alchemy Bar was another high point.

Ship tip

Watch the on deck movies. Even though the movies were older, my husband and I enjoyed them. The kids did too 😂 It was beautiful out, breezy, there were stars, pop corn and relaxing. We loved it.

The 7 Mile beach was magical. A true dream come true! We went to the Dolphin Swim. It was neat but far more regulated than I realized. The dolphins were trained to perform moves and it was hard to participate knowing that they were not living their natural lives.

Snuba Diving was so excellent! I had never gone before. Initially I was struggling to not feel panic breathing air and being under water. But they let me practice floating on top while the family enjoyed being on the bottom floor. Half way through I was invited to try again. Which I did, I felt more comfortable after being allowed to float on top. Our youngest was 11 and he did so amazing. I was worried the most about him, when I was the one who chickened out. My husband did great, but his facial hair didn’t allow him a proper seal on his mask and he got eyes full of salt water. Afterwards we ate at their restaurant. Best food ever!!!

Jamaica was something we saw very limited. We went to the excursion. The Wet and Wild Buggy was fun. The constant photo op was a drag. But the kids really enjoyed it and that was what mattered. Jamaica was pretty eye opening. None of us had ever experienced that level of poverty. But still am grateful for that experience.
