Review summary

We had a blast sailing on the Vista. We only wish there were fewer people and less of a push to sell you something behind every door.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Wound up going a little earlier than we needed to but once they started loading zones we were quick to board. Wasn't very happy with the baggage guy being rude about wanting a tip. I have no issue tipping. Maybe just post a sign that it's customary to tip the guy you hand your bag to instead of getting chastised by the man? It's not always obvious with US workers.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The regular dining times and food were spectacular. Our regular waiter (Medirien, hope that's spelled right) was an absolute blast. He went out of his way to entertain and learn about everyone each day we were there.

Horizons Restaurant

5 out of 5

A little hectic with seating in the morning, especially for large groups; but far more pleasant than the Marketplace.

Lido Marketplace

3 out of 5

Great at night, but way to many rowdy, unaccompanied kids. Weird thing, the floor was always insanely slippery. There wasn't a moment I was in there or passing through that I didn't see a crew member swabbing the floor. Even then I was close to eating it every time.

Reflections Restaurant

5 out of 5

Meridian and Rio were the bomb. I hope I remembered their names correctly because they were incredible!

Guy's Burger Joint

3 out of 5

Line was perpetually long, burger was burnt to a crisp, but the fries were good.

Pizzeria Del Capitano

1 out of 5

Didn't get to eat there because the line was practically hanging over the side of the ship and dragging in our wake.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There's plenty to do and the Hub app makes it relatively easy to find. It would be nice if more areas were adult exclusive and the areas that already are were monitored. There were way too many teenagers strolling through Serenity blaring music on speakers.

Guest Services

5 out of 5

The door handle to our balcony fell off and we went to the Guest service counter on Deck 3. The blonde lady was super helpful and had it fixed the day we told them. Then the next day, we were given champagne and strawberries. We are so appreciative!

Beach Pool

3 out of 5

Always busy, which is to be expected. Most of the shady areas were held by the same sets of people over 6 days. I did not feel welcome in that area the entire time.

Photo Gallery

2 out of 5

The photos were not great. We did a few silly shoots out of frustration too. Still awful.

Cloud 9 Spa

2 out of 5

Too many high pressure sales folks and pseudo-science jargon. I know what a spa offers, just show me where everything is and leave the sales out of it.

Sky Fitness

1 out of 5

Huge waste of space. Worked fine but absolutely could have consolidated the space as a kids food place to keep the lido clear.

Vista Casino

2 out of 5

Really wanted to learn how to participate but there wasn't much in the way of getting involved. The smoke wasn't great either.

Thermal Suites

2 out of 5

Not enough chairs, and staying in a Cloud 9 stateroom made that reality disappointing.

Entertainment

4 out of 5

Limelight Lounge

4 out of 5

The entertainment was always incredible, the seats in the back had obstructed views. Not enough people taking drink orders.

Liquid Lounge

5 out of 5

Loved it. Never a dull moment. Cheeky Charlie made the trip for us.

The Warehouse Arcade

1 out of 5

Blatantly a miniature of the casino designed to siphon money from kids. If I see one more prize claw, I'm gunna hurl.

IMAX Theater

2 out of 5

The theater was awesome, the people were not. I guess the people on vacation are also taking a break from manners! The amount of talking during the movie was unreal. It was also a real disappointment not to have freshly popped popcorn.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room cleaner, Evangeline on deck 14 is the absolute best. She knew our names day 1 and even though we told her she only needed to visit once a day, she came and made the bed, left us a towel animal, and tidied up any time we left our room
