Review summary

Paid a little extra so we could have access to the Harbour Lounge however, it was a disaster from day one. The lounge had hot chocolate and coffee and water and ice and ice cream machine. I thought it would have a drink machine with the ice tea and lemonade but it did not. That was a disappointment. They had a breakfast and light lunch which was very nice you didn't have to fight the Lido deck on port days. But the room was quickly taken over by kids and they destroyed the room daily. Games and cards all over the floor where you could not walk and ice cream machine left running where ice cream was everywhere. When I called the front desk and explained how the kids were destroying it and explained that there were stewards in the hall way but not saying a word the lady at the front desk said they could not say anything to the the kids the parents would have to do that. She would send someone to check out the room. I get that Carnival does not want to put a negative vibe out however it was a negative vibe for me and my family who paid extra to have this amenity that we could not enjoy. The young man working (Lee) was working his butt off trying to clean up as fast as the kids were messing up. The cruise it self was great. Bed and pillow were so comfortable stewards were excellent. The dance and singing shows in the evening were a lot to be desired however the comedy shows were excellent.

Had an excellent dinner staff. Mehluli and Mark were spot on. We enjoyed their service. Mehluli made it fun for my son and our friends kids. Great men.

Room was small however didn't spend much time in there. Bed and pillows excellent. Stewards were very good. We had Ashkin and he always went above and beyond.

Ship tip

Shows were ok not as good as I expected. Movie time on deck was great however, there was never any popcorn available.

Hubby and I ARE old. We like to cruise with the younger crowd and let them entertain us. There's always something to do and somebody to watch. Carnival is our line of choice. October can't get here soon enough!

Nancys.I wouldn't suggest having them walk the plank.There's nothing wrong with old people.I would do a cruise with them as well.

Oh, please! Really Thomaspjr? People that want to travel without kids around should cruise on the ships that cater to the old farts. Hey, maybe they could just take the "unruly kids" and make them walk the plank. I will agree, however, that a LOT of parents let the kids run wild. This is like a floating city. Would you let your children run wild and loose in a strange city? No, of course not. They do need to keep a closer eye on them.

I'm sorry your vacation was ruined.Carnival should have a room designated to unruly kids.Keep them there until the parents could come n get them.Charge them for the stewarts time and warn them about the importance of keeping their kids with them or they will not be able too travel with them in the future.

My wife would have said something to them. She would have blown a fuse. She doesn't tolerate that kind of stuff. We will be staying in a hervana Room with no kids on this trip. 38 more days.

Carnival and kids. They seem to go together. Misbehaving kids are not usually appreciated no matter which location. If I were you, I am sure I would feel the same frustration levels. Hope you have a better cruise next time.

Bad parenting is a common complaint among cruisers. It seems some parents vacate their duties when they vacay. It only takes a few bad apples to spoil it for everyone including the families that behave better.
