The cruise was short but sweet.

Review summary

I only need 3 or 4 more sail days before I am platinum on Carnival; I don't care if I ever sail Carnival again.

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Lacking. The waiters no longer place the napkins in your lap. That was one of my favorite parts about going to the dining room. The dessert menu is now on the main menu so as you order dinner you must now order dessert; none of us liked this rushed feature of dinner. The wait staff never asked us if we wanted tea or coffee we had to flag them down and ask. I believe the Carnival Cruise Line has pulled back on amenities but the tips remain the same.

Onboard Activities

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
When we meet the steward he wanted us to sign a form as to whether we wanted our room turned down in the morning and/or night, did we want fresh towels. We were not given glasses in the room or the bathroom, no longer were chocolates left on the pillow. Carnival has pulled back on service but yet the tips have not changed.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
lots of rust

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
the cabin was ok. We NEVER had glasses in the room; not in the bathroom or where we had bottled water.

Ship tip

don't expect too much.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

2 out of 5
I didn't spend any time there.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
love Key West but wish we had more time. Made the best of our limited time.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
love Cozumel we went to an all inclusive beach resort.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
They turned off the elevators; we were stuck on deck 11 for 40 minutes until we found someone to call to have an elevator sent up.

Better luck next cruise

That's sounds a bit creepy, being upset that another grown person didn't put their hands in your lap/crotch area to place your napkin there!!

2 stars for not having your napkin put in your lap? Better switch to a 5 star resort.

We were on the same cruise. Our waitresses were top notch probably the best we have ever had. Cruise director was lacking I never even met our steward but the room was clean and we had glasses in the room. We knew it was a short cruise on an older ship. Loved the ports only wish key West was longer

I was on a September 30th sailing and the desert menu was seperate and given after I was finished eating.

I believe Carnival stopped leaving Choclates about 6 years ago. I miss them but it doesn't ruin my cruise. Signing up to day or evening or both is not a bad thing. . I ask for morning and a turn down. As far as glasses. I told steward the first day I want glasses and a bucket of ice. I had both fresh throughout the day.

Judging by your cruise history you have only been on 2 Carnival Cruises for a total of 8 days so you are a long ways away from being Platinum. You need 75 days at sea in order to be platinum . If you dislike Carnival so much why did you go on the same ship two months in a row?

5 stars for entertainment that was "fair"?

I don’t remember Carnival ever being a high end cruise line?? Just fun, friendly employees, and budget friendly.

Lots of people would prefer that they DIDN’T put the napkin in your lap. I’m sure the waiters aren’t comfortable with it either being that everyone is hyper sensitive these days about their personal space and touching. Did you ever ask for glasses in your cabin? I’m sure your cabin steward would have been happy to accommodate your request. Not sure why that would’ve been difficult. None of the cruise lines in the Carnival price range offer chocolates on your pillow anymore. PLEASE stop using Carnival!! I don’t want someone as miserable as yourself on any cruise I take. Get over yourself 🙄

I dont really want anyone putting anything in my lap area except for Mrs. Realist. This is a change that I can subscribe to.

Not to downplay your lacking experience, but the Victory is being pulled out of service and going into drydock. And will come out as the Radiance. We had a similar experience on the Triumph, 2 sailings before it went into drydock. When it came out it was renamed the Sunrise. I paid extra for wifi because I had to work a couple days. The first day at sea they disconnected the wifi and I had to use my phone. That was an extra $400.00. The staff were friendly, but seemed preoccupied with getting things stored. Maintenance were already replacing carpets and the elevators were off more than on. Dispite all of this we still had a good time. We are platinum and we sail Carnival exclusively. Sometimes you have to except the inconvenience of progress in order to enjoy advancement. I am looking forward to my 14th cruise with Carnival on the Freedom in March. Remember if your not cruising your losing.

We had the same issues on previous cruises. We now avoid Carnival. Have had great experiences on Norwegian and Princess. Trying MSC next week for the first time.
