Review summary

Carnival is the bottom end ... not for us. Despite 18% being added to everything, there’s a final $110 tip added to your bill... something the agents don’t tell you about!! Onboard bar prices are very high ... so don’t be fooled by the cheap basic price... it all adds up!

Embarkation

Had expectations!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The staff are great, the food isn’t too bad, but don’t expect fine dining!

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
3000+ in two pools.... you guess!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Some very good, some disgusting. Don’t appreciate a piano bar with a disgusting woman telling me what she likes sexually

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff are brilliant, even though their working patterns are so difficult. They always smile and love to chat.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Cabin was great. The ship is getting on, but they do try to keep it looking good. Public toilets have a hard time serving so many!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
All fine

Ship tip

Keep your expectations low!! The cliente are generally from the lower end! Was shocked at the level of rudeness and inconsideration

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

Miami has a great diversity of things to do. We liked little Havana

Every cruise line charges gratuities.

I’ve only been on Carnival once in the 90s on a new ship. Traveling on Carnival again for a quick weekend with family. The short trips are going to attract a large group of people because of the price point. Three and four day cruises on Carnival are for partying and therefore the ships are the oldest in the fleet. Your 7 day cruises on a newer ship will have a different vibe. You have to ask a lot of questions and set the right expectations with your travel agent to ensure you are purchasing the right cruise. Referring to passengers as low end is sad. If you expect a certain type ship, service etc then expect to pay more money. Take time to read your contract as well. Happy cruising in the future.

If you were surprised by $$ you went in blind... don't blame the cruise because you didn't do your homework!

If you read your documents you'd know about the gratuities.

You can always ask them to remove the tipping. We always do because we tip as we go.
