Great cruise! I didn't want to leave and would do it all over again, a million times, if I could! Carnival is definitively the fun ship! I've been on this ship multiple times and have yet to do everything I planned to do prior to boarding. I will be back on a Victory again for sure!!
Embarkation
4 out of 5
The best embarkation experience on Carnival to date. Fast and easy!! One attendees during security forgot to stamp one of our boarding passes so we had to wait in line again later on down the embarkation process.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Main dinning food for both brunch and dinner were perfect! Our dinner team -- Malairat, I Nyoman, and Andy were awesome!! They should be commended for the awesome service they provided, especially accommodating a vegan and a picky vegetarian in the group. These team members and the main dinning room as a whole get 10 stars from me!
Now, the reason for my 2 star rating... A group of us ate at Pizza Pirate after going to the club one night and everyone got sick and had diarrhea from was appears to have been a stomach bug. I normally always eat at Pizza Pirate and had done so on this cruise prior to this night, and it appears as though the temperature on the oven was turned down to cook the pizza faster to accommodate everyone coming from the club, and the under cooked pizza caused our group to get sick. This sub par rating is solely because of Pizza Pirate. All other food venues on board were great!
The bar service ship wide wasn't great either. Bars were overcrowded. Bartenders lost track of who came to the bar and when. Drinks were great, but the service wasn't great! I normally have a go to bartender in each area of the ship and didn't find one solid bartender I would revisit during my cruise. There was an awesome server in the Comedy Club by the name of Christian, in which my group asked for nightly. He should be a bartender.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Nothing special! Definitely need more outdoor activities other than just the pool, mini golf and a slide.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The evening shows were great. There was ample entertainment in the evening, however, during the day entertainment was lacking. Need more than just a DJ poolside.
Children's Programs
5 out of 5
The smaller kids from our group loved all the activities! The teenagers weren't too pleased, but enjoyed spending time with the adults in lieu of lacking activities for teens.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone we interacted with was nice and helpful! One of my best experiences with the staff on this ship. My last cruise on this ship wasn't quite the same reception.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
I've been on this ship both before and after dry docking early 2018, and I must say, I'm pleased and would call Victory my go to ship for a quick vacation out of South Florida if cruising with Carnival. I like the added restaurants/bars, the remodeling mostly ship wide, the removal of the bad smell in the lobby, and just a better feel and touch to the vibe of the ship overall. I would cruise again on Victory for sure!!
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
The room and hallway was peace and quite! I loved it!! Great view!! And being in the front of the ship on a high deck didn't make me sick at all. I would choose this same room all over again.
Ship tip
Don't book too early. I lost nearly $300 because my rate code didn't allow refunds as the price dropped. It's almost worth just waiting until you're within 90 days of the cruise to book if you can. Another tip would be eating in the main dinning room prior to and/or during disembarkation. Enjoy the cruise and food until the very last minute!
This was the BEST port of the cruise! I could have done this every day. I absolutely loved it and would look for a itinerary on a future Carnival cruise that has this port. The private cabana and warm and beautiful beach were amazing. The accommodations were a bit dated, and the menu offered for food wasn’t vegan friendly – best we just saved the food and modern upgrades for the ship.
Not bad! But I've visited this port so much, I'm not sure why I expect to see something new every visit and I don't. We originally planned a private tour and a visit to Atlantis but canceled last minute to shop and eat near the port. While walking and shopping there was so much up-selling throughout the port entrance and shops I felt like I was touring a bizarre. We quickly made our way through the shops and star market and went back to the ship.
