Review summary

This was the best "first" cruise. I can't wait to book another carnival cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The transfer bus arrived within plenty of time for us to check in and board the ship. Going through the check points was simple. We had enough time to relax and grab lunch on the lido deck before our cabin was ready. We received our bags within the next hour after entering our cabin.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Our waiter, Vincent, was very polite and engaging. The food on the buffet line was delicious as well as the food served in the dining room. I loved that pizza and ice cream were available throughout the evening. The dining room entertainment was great!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Enjoyed the mini golf and walking around the track to burn off some calories. We enjoyed watching a couple of movies on the lido deck (with blankets). We didn't get a chance to enjoy the pools.

South China Sea Club Casino

2 out of 5

I didn't like the casino because it was too smoky from the cigarette smoke.

Spa Carnival

2 out of 5

I asked about a wash and style but found the manager to be very pushy. I was ready to walk away after two minutes of her talking (selling). Never found out the price of the wash/style.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The comedians were very funny, and the shows were very entertaining. Loved the staged shows that included singing and dancing. Didn't get a chance to go to bingo.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone who worked on the ship and whom I came in contact with was very nice, polite and professional. The cabin steward, Tatang, was very thorough in cleaning and straightening our cabin. Our waiter, Vincent, was very polite and engaging.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is very beautiful, and more than I expected. The layout is easy to maneuver after you learn the layout. The common areas were clean and was keep clean as the day progressed. I loved seeing that crew members were cleaning throughout the day.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was roomy for three people. I loved the bed. The bed was very comfortable. The cabin was cleaned at least twice a day. Our steward, Tatang, was very thorough. The cabin was very quiet. Sitting on the balcony and watching the water/waves was the best relaxation.

Ship tip

My best advise would be to leave your stresses at home and enjoy this beautiful ship and all it has to offer.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

departure port only.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
This port was very nice. The day started out windy and cool but turned warm and sunny. We did the bike tour and had the best time ever. My relative are still talking about this excursion. Our tour guide, Dennis, was very knowledgeable and nice.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
This port was very exciting. We didn't book an excursion. Instead we visited the many shops in the immediate area. The food was good. I do not recommend leaving the initial tourist shop and venturing into the shops across the street. We found the shop keepers to be very pushy / aggressive.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was very quick and no fuss. Sad it went too quickly.

Try a longer one and extend the fun longer. Usually the longer cruises are better.
