Review summary

Overall I had lots of fun on my first cruise. I can't wait for another one.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Getting on the ship was so efficient and easy and fast that it made my head whirl. From the moment we parked our car to getting on the ship, I think it only took an hour.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was excellent no matter where we went. We mostly stayed with the buffet, but eventually tried the restaurant area. It had an excellent menu and we were glad that we didn't have to dress up for it.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Whether you came to relax or to learn something or spend all your money, this cruise had it all. I know now though, that most of the seminars end up trying to sell you something, but they are informative.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
All the photos that were taken and believe me there are plenty of opportunities to get photos are excellent. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because there aren't many package deals or one where you pay a certain price for digital. Each picture costs money and it can get pretty costly.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Jerry, our cabin keeper was excellent. All the little towel animals were so adorable. He was so friendly and always available to help if we needed something.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
There was a lot of running around between 3, 4, 5 and 9 decks which could be annoying especially since the elevators were slow.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We upgraded from the 2nd floor and had 2 twin beds, but through the upgrade we got a queen size bed. The room was a bit overcrowded for us, but we made it work. Jerry, our housekeeper, was excellent.

Ship tip

Don't overpack!

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
It was the point of embarkation and debarkation. Traffic was horrendous.

Key West, Florida

5 out of 5
This is a town I need to take a separate vacation to and just enjoy all of the museums and little shops. It also is the southernmost point of the US, so that was cool.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
It is a beautiful touristy place to visit. Not many places to eat "authentic" Mexican that I could see, but plenty of stores. We took the Sites and shopping tour. The 5 hours were well worth it. Fun and informative. Next time, I'd love to see the Temples.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
I was a bit nervous because I went over the $800 allowance, but it all went well. Everything went smooth as silk. I'm glad we took our own bags off the ship.
