Will never go on this ship again. Probably won’t go out of NY for a while either even though it is most convenient
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Embarkation was the worst that I ever experienced out of NY. We had Priority Check In. Were told we had to take our luggage instead of giving it to a porter and go stand in line outside. Meanwhile others were just giving luggage to the porters and walking right in. No organization whatsoever.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was good for the most part. Only went to the dining room 3 nights because between the wait to get in (we had Your Time Dining) and the time it took to get our food, dinner was a 2 hour process at the minimum.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Not much going on during the day on lido deck, guessing because there was no room. Felt like we were always just waiting for something to do.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
Heard good things about the cruise director MarQ but was not a fan. Long lines to get into any show. Comedians were horrible. Didn’t go to any of the stage shows since we’ve seen them all before.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Our cabin attendant was great. Otherwise seemed like there was not enough staff for the number of guests. Always running out of food on the lido buffet and took a while to get it refilled. Dining room service was slow.
Ship Quality

Absolutely hated the design and layout. I know it is not a true Carnival ship, and you can’t try turning it into one. There were only 60 chairs by the pool on the lido deck. The deck above, which usually has loungers in the sun, was all enclosed and had little cubbies with all tables and chairs. Hard to find a place to lay in the sun unless you got a chair at 7am. The rule for being out of your chair for 40 minutes was not enforced at all.
Cabin / Stateroom

Typical balcony cabin. Liked the glass door shower instead of the curtain.
Ship tip
Don’t expect it to be like a typical Carnival cruise. Good if you like to sit in the shade and not go in the pool. Need patience for all the lines.
Probably the worst out of everything was debarkation. Carried luggage out. Once we were in our waiting area, we couldn’t get an elevator so we had to walk down 3 decks with it. Then they sent us down a hallway with cabins, around the corner, and down the hallway on the other side, only to end up 5 steps from where we started. Never had this experience out of NY before.
I felt everything was great until I came to the area of the dog sniffing for luggage. I took out my cell because it rang and the dog attendant said " can't you read? Put your phone away". In a harsh voice, meanwhile the sign read don't take pictures. That tone really made me feel bad. I'm on vacation not at boot camp!
Embarkation was the worst had an 11 am check in arrived on time needed wheelchair assistance. Went to wheelchair area was 25 th in line for a wheelchair, their were people their with 1:30 and 2:30 check in times ahead of me. Mentioned it to carnival port workers and instantly became enemy of the state they would no longer speak to me and ignored me, spoke to a supervisor that didn’t care. I spoke to customer service on the ship they apologized but I will not sail from NY again, it’s bad you have to go into a crime ridden city, pay a ridiculous amount of money for transportation in an overcrowded city then be mistreated by dock workers
The ship definitely has a different vibe than other Carnival ships and I can see why people might not like that. We thought it was a great change of pace and would absolutely sail her again. But I know some friends we often sail with wouldn't like the more laid back feel. It's not a lido party boat. But we loved it for what it was- clean, beautiful, relaxing. Won't take over from the Magic as our favorite but a great once-in-a-while alternative
Was on this ship this past February 2024, 9 day cruise I feel the same way. It just has a totally different vibe. Will not be sailing ⛵️ on this one again.
