Review summary

Overall this was a great cruise was amazing. We had a great time and left with some great memories. The ship was gorgeous, but had some flaws. The islands were amazing!! This was my first Carnival cruise and I liked the entertainment a lot more than the other cruise line I usually cruise. Definitely planning on another cruise through Carnival in the future.

Overall it was fine, but the port workers could have been nicer

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
We had a set dining time, table, and servers each night. Agus and Yudi were the best part of our trip. Food was good and service was fast. Buffet was a nightmare. Long lines, people cutting. We had breakfast in the dining room most rooms because of this. Drink station was poorly set up. People had to grab cup, go around juice machine and get ice snd then go back. During busy times people wouldn’t let you get to juice easily. Bar service as fast at all bars I visited. Drinks were good.

Onboard Activities

Pools were very crowded. Was able to sit on the edge and stick feet in one of the days.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Main shows were good. We went every night. Also went to the comedy shows and the bands. It was easy to find entertainment that met my interests.

Children's Programs

My daughter loved O2. There were a lot of kids on the ship her age and they all came and went from O2. She said it was easy to make friends and rated this trip 10/10.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Agus and Yudi were two of the best servers I have ever had (this is coming from a server). They were attentive, funny, and overall two great guys. John Paul, our room steward, went out of his way for us as well. Always sought us out to say hi and see if we needed anything.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Buffet and pool areas were hard to navigate with the number of people on board. Otherwise the rest of the ship was gorgeous. The ship needed hand sanitizing stations. Please bring these back! Lots of people got off the ship with COVID.

Cabin / Stateroom

Absolutely loved our cove balcony. Room was quiet, beds were comfy and the balcony was amazing. Was disappointed that my morning coffee was interrupted every morning around 8 am when either the deck or the lifeboats were sprayed down. This resulted in a wet balcony and chairs and would force me back inside.

Ship tip

Be patient! It’s a big ship with a lot of people.

Ports of call

New York, New York

Didn’t love this port. Found some of the workers to be rude.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Our private pool cabana was the best excursion I’ve ever done. Loved the guys assigned to us, as well as our waitress. We had an air conditioned place with snacks and drinks available to us on a really hot day. Easy access to pool. Would do this again!!

Grand Turk Island

Weather was crummy, but made the most of it. Visited stores, Starbucks and managed to stick our toes in the water between storms. Gorgeous and would love to come back to give it another try

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

Loved this island! We had a clamshell that helped give us a break from the sun. Beach was gorgeous and water was amazing. My teen had a blast with the activities available

Disembarkation

We were standing in the right spot and the right time on deck 2 right when we left our cabin. A worker came over and asked if we were ready to head off the ship. There was so one getting off on deck 2 so we were able to walk right off. No lines!
