Embarking was a little flustered. However moved quickly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5

Atrium Bar

2 out of 5

Was always packed especially when there was a deck party being held here

Piano Bar

1 out of 5

The bar tender when I went here was very crabby and made it clear he did not want to be working there.

Canal Grande Restaurant

3 out of 5

The service was a little hit or miss depending on the service team. The food was the standard Carnival fare.

PIzzeria del Capitano

4 out of 5

The pizza was okay for a cruise ship. Depending on time of day made a difference in freshness. Sailing out of NYC there are a lot better options on shore

Steakhouse

4 out of 5

Food was excellent.

Lido Marketplace

3 out of 5

Typical buffet food. The scrambled eggs were a little wet and flavorless. The deli was decent.

Onboard Activities

Guest Services

5 out of 5

Both times I had to go here they were very helpful and friendly. I went during the later evening or earlier in the morning to avoid the crowds.

Ropes Course

1 out of 5

Looked like fun. However was not allowed to do this as I was over the weight limit by 2 pounds.

Lido Pool

1 out of 5

Pool area was way to small.

Entertainment

5 out of 5

Teatro Rosso

4 out of 5

The bar service was amazing. They could use a few more servers. The production shows were amazing. You do need to get there early to stand in line for seats. Some seats are blocked by support poles.

Dive-In Movies

2 out of 5

The pool deck was to small and therefore very limited seating. With the pool deck roof closed there was an echo.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The majority of the staff was extremely friendly. Joey the cruise director was amazing.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The layout can be confusing at first. The biggest trick is remembering the deck 3 does not got all the way through because of the restaurant galley. The casino is in major need of better ventilation. There is a very strong smell of smoke that can also be smelled on the deck above.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Stayed in a standard interior cabin. There was less storage and the drawers in the closet are useless due to being too small.

Ship tip

Try and do as much as you can. Above all have fun. After all. "The worst day on a cruise is better than your best day on land."

Ports of call

New York, New York

NYC is what you make of it. Stayed in Jersey City prior to cruise. Highly recommend staying there. (Hyatt House)

Saint John, New Brunswick

Was a really nice port. There is a container shopping village right of the ship. Took a foodie walking tour. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and the food was really good. The food was really good and from local restaurants. Warning the Dulse has a strong flavor and after taste, definitely an acquired taste.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Great port to visit. Shopping area with local craft vendors in the terminal. Just out side is a harbor walk with lots of shops, views, local food, activities and museums. Highly recommend walking to the Atlantic Maritime Museum. Lots of sailing history including a large section on the HMS Titanic.

Sydney, Nova Scotia

There was a shopping area at the port. Outside of that there did not seem to be much to do nearby. Most of the tours leave the area by bus. The tour of Baddeck & the Alexander Graham Bell Museum was okay. It took longer to get there and back, then time to wonder or see the museum. The tour guide was amazing and very knowledgeable.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Debarking was not horrible. As with any cruise it is a bit hectic.
