Embarkation

It was a bit hectic but we got on board quickly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Overall the food in the dining room was very good. There were some dishes that were outright delicious, but one or two fell flat. We ate in the Italian Specialty restaurant Il Viaggio and it was very delicious and well worth the extra cost. The buffet was a mixed bag. Breakfast was better in the restaurant, but lunch and dinner at the buffet were good. The Pina Coladas, a staple of any Caribbean cruise, were available only from a frozen mix and not all that good. The self-serve soft ice-cream was made from some artificial stuff that was not good.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The pools were embarrassingly tiny and crowded. If you plan to spend a lot of time in the pool, this ship is not for you. We knew about that, so we were not so disappointed. However, the lack of a sufficient number of shade umbrellas was inexcusable!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The comedy shows were excellent. The high ropes course was fun. The performances in the main theatre were weak compared to other cruises we have been on. The casino was good, the DJ was good, and the variety of family game activities was good.
Children's Programs
No kids.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our room steward was friendly and really took excellent care of us. The waiters were very friendly and the dining service was surprisingly sophisticated. The singing send-off on the last night was genuinely moving. On the negative side, there were not enough waiters walking around the decks to take our drink orders.

Surprisingly spacious. Was cleaned daily. Fresh sheets and towels.
Ship tip
Don't expect to have room to actually swim in the pool or find space in the jacuzzis.
We carried our own bags off the ship which means we got off early. If you can do that, it is much better, though finding space on the elevators to get to the gangway took a while.
