While our part has a great time, the multiple fights/altercations and lack of control of throngs of children was very off putting. Cruises in numerous other lines multiple times and NEVER witnessed the behaviors we saw on this ship. Not sure I’ll be back on carnival again.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was easy and moved quickly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Food was great in the dining rooms. The late night buffets weren’t very clean or well maintained… went once and opted for room service every night thereafter. Room service was super fast abs everything arrived hot and fresh-definitely worth the nominal fee.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
I and/or members of my party used most of the facilities and found them to be in good condition and fun. The lido pool was rather small for the number of guests onboard and was always crawling with children. A diaper leak closed the pool one evening so no one swam that night.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
MarQ was PHENOMENAL as a cruise director. He kept all of the parties going and even played referee one evening when tempers flared among guests.
Children's Programs
4 out of 5
The children’s program were good but the amount of kids roaming around and causing confusion after 11 was insane.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All of the staff we encountered throughout the ship were top notch. All were personable, super helpful and accommodating even when dealing with the throngs of extremely rude, ill mannered guests.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ship was beautiful but the size of the lido deck and pool was not ideal for the crowd.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Our cabin was comfy, clean and easily accessible to the elevators and all parts of the ship. The beds were comfortable and we had ample space for storage. We loved the showers w the glass doors!
Ship tip
Pack your patience. Carnival should allow access to tender boarding passes via the hub and use the departure information listed in reservations to disburse disembarkation luggage by stateroom attendants like other cruise lines. This will avoid the hostility and numerous near fights we witnesses when trying to secure these items.
Beautiful location but the tender process was a bit disorganized. The food provided at the buffet was subpar and not nearly as good as basic burgers and hot dogs should be.
That's why I do longer cruises and not when kids are off from school. We get a few homeschoolers but the journey cruises typically have less than 100 under the age of 18. One I was on only had 20. Looking forward to our journey cruise on Venezia in 2025.
Glad you enjoyed the cruise minus a couple small hiccups. On carnival and royal, you will definitely notice more families. For your next cruise, if you’d like to avoid children, it’d be best to choose another cruise line. Also, it’s summer, so the number of children on ships will be high until the new school year begins. Thank you for sharing your experience and I hope your next cruise is a 5 star experience!
That is crazy about the fights. We were on the Venezia from the 13-17 and never witnessed anything like that. People have gotten so nasty I shouldn’t be surprised.
