Carnival Valor

4 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 06, 2020

Ship: Carnival Valor

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

Everything was great but I think Carnival could do a better job of enforcing hand washing before entering dining areas. The hand sanitizer was often off to the side and no one was ever there reminding people to use it.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was great and there was plenty of it on the buffets and in the main dining room.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The ship did lack entertainment at night in the main theater. Hasbro Game Show is not really a night time show in my opinion.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our table waiter was fabulous as was our room steward. They went out of their way to make the cruise great

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship shows in age in some areas but it was very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

Cozumel, Mexico

We just rented a taxi for 3 hours and went on a private tour of Cozumel. It was great!

I'm all for handwashing but then I watch people eat with their hands, sticking their fingers in their mouths then going up to the buffet and putting those same hands on the serving utensils.

Not everyone is cleanly and they don’t wash their hands every time it’s needed, so having the ship remind people is great service in my opinion especially at the buffet.

Why is it Carnival's obligation to remind people to wash their hands. Isn't it common sense to wash your hands prior to eating or after using the restroom. So you have to be reminded to wipe after you use the restroom. If people would use common sense this world would be great.

Last year they did on the Sunshine

Be an adult. Norwegian is so annoying with hand sanitizer. All it does is slow down the line. I wash my hands plenty.

Bring your own sanitizer .I also buy the single wrapped wet ones to wipe our tables down before we eat, they are easy to fit in your pockets.

I’m surprised they aren’t enforcing the hand washing (sanitizer) at this time. We are getting on a ship in 4 days and been trying to think about all precautions we can take ourself.
