Review summary

This was our 1st Cruise.  Chose a Cruise to get away and relax.  No phones or internet.  Paid extra for a Balcony room to relax.  Neighbors to the right side - LOUD LOUD till 3 am - inside their room and on Balcony!  Neighbors on the other side - little kids.  2 doors down (we were down wind from) smoked on their Balcony and the smoke smell was horrible.

I had heard that Carnival is more of a "Party" cruise line but did not understand the full extent.  Geez.

Anyway - I like the idea of a Cruise.  Now if they offered a Non Kid Floor - Non Drunk Loud Ladies Floor - I might go back on one.

Nice Size. Neighbors were not nice.

Ship tip

For sure a Party theme. Too many Adults that had too many Adult beverages. Not a place to relax.

Royal Caribbean was much more laid back than Carnival. And Holland America was waaay quiet. Definitely go in the off-season; it is cheaper and has far fewer kids.

Carnival is more kid/party friendly....that was my experience. Trying Norwegian next.....hope for a more relaxing voyage. Good luck to you on your future travels!!!

Carnival is much calmer and family oriented on longer cruises. The shorter ones are the booze cruises.

Try any cruise line but Carnival. All others are less the wild party beasts.

you can always call security on the loud people and the smokers.

We see so many miserable little kids on cruises because there's nothing for them. They're bored and drug around this huge strange ship. When they're miserable they make everyone around them miserable too. I wish people would understand this and wait to take them until they're old enough to understand and participate. I have kids so I'm not a kid hater. I'm all for a family vacation. But a vacation the whole family can enjoy and not drive other people crazy in the meantime.

TracySteph is right. Crusing while schools in session means less kids. Also deck 1 aft is as about as quiet as you can get. Minus balcony rooms but it has windows.

Try going when school is in session. We just got back may 6-13. Just a handful of kids. Most are taking finals in early may.
