Review summary
We weren't even sure if we'd be able to sail following Hurricane Matthew (and felt a little guilty celebrating our good fortune with such tremendous loss). Yes we were late leaving Port Canaveral, and big itinerary changes due to ports being closed, but that wasn't going to ruin our vacation! Carnival offered us a pp credit and discount off a future cruise to make up for that. We had an absolute blast on this trip! It was my husbands first cruise, my 9th, so not a great representation due to all the changes for him, but he enjoyed regardless.
The Valor was recently upgraded to the Fun ship2.0 so that made it even better. It does have some dated areas but our balcony cabin (7376) was super clean and what we expected. There's a lot of fun to be had on this ship so definitely explore all areas and decks. The adult Serenity area is super relaxing, quiet and the hammocks are great for a little catnap.
I cannot say enough fantastic things about the staff on this boat! Best overall service I've ever had on a cruise!!
I've seen some negative reviews about this particular sailing due to the itinerary change. Mother Nature happens, it's out of our control. We talked to many Bahamians who suffered a lot of loss. Their spirit in spite of tradegy is something we can all learn from! Hopefully those who were disappointed with this sailing will have better luck next time. For us, it turned out to be a fantastic getaway!
