Carnival Triumph

5 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)

Sail date: June 09, 2018

Ship: Carnival Triumph

Cabin type: Suite

Traveled as: Family (young children)

Review summary

Carnival lives up to its nickname Booze Cruise. Not for the greatest generation. We could not find a nice, quiet place for an evening drink while grands were doing their nighttime activities.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Wonderful! The easiest embarkation ever!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
The food was just OK. However, there were two of my favorite entrees that were terrible, prime rib and mahi-mahi.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Great activities for grandkids but not so much for us grandparents.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The child appropriate shows were good but just not many of them. Some so crowded could not get a seat.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Grands loved their ‘camp’ experience.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The low grade is for our room steward. He did not make up the kids beds.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
To call this an ocean suite was not an appropriate term.

Ship tip

Be young!

Did not do an excursion but have been here many times. Too touristy.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
Did not do an excursion. Grands wanted to stay onboard.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
The easiest, fastest ever!
