Review summary

this was a birthday cruise for my wife. bought decorations for the room. it looked great and the room steward(LUK) pronounced Luke left a special note on the mirror and she loved it. the ship was very clean and the staff were excelent. the food was 3.5 star and entertainment was great. we wanted to sail on her before she went into dry dock and changed to sunrise and now we are looking foward to sailing her again under her new name.

the waiters were excellent and the food was great , but the warm melting cake was dry with no sauce.

London Dining Room

this was great and Vincente and Marius were on top of it. the only reason that I gave a 4 star was the chocolate melting cake was dry (no chocolate sauce).

Guy's Burger Joint

did eat a couple a times at guy's and if you want a burger that is the place whether in port or at sea.

the selection in the buffet is always good and the morning buffet with eggs any way you like them is perfect. wish they had real shredded hash browns.

there sandwiches were great. wish other ships still had this kind of deli. its worth the wait verses the new pre maid ahead of time format they going to.

Onboard Activities

took third in the hole in one putt putt contest. participated in the love and marriage show. had a blast.

Internet Cafe

Not very happy with this one. Paid for premium service because I new I would have to work some. This was the biggest waste of money I have ever spent on the 11 cruises I have sailed with carnival. Don't advertise it if you cant deliver it. It took my 4 hours to get one email downloaded and then I could not answer it. This was while were in port at Cozumel. I finally did everything by phone so not only did I pay 72.15 for wi-fi now I will have a extra 120.00 on my phone bill. Not happy if you furnish it don't sale it. I would rate this it negative 1 star but there isn't one. AW SNAP. Lesson learned.

The Fun Shops

the shops were ok but the old guys who not fit and trim anymore have a hard time finding clothing that fits. need more 2xl and 3xl for the guys and girls.

the course needs some work but the challenge was fun and entertaining. won third place in hole in one contest.

guest services was the most helpful and cheery persons besides our room steward Luk and Adam the entertainment director.

Entertainment

Adam is the entertainment. did scavenger hunt for rubber duckies, loved mardis gra show. we will sorely miss the live band and the on stage singers and dancers. like a old fashion musical.

Service and Staff

not once did we have to ask for anything. the room stewards were beyond excellent and the wait staff were on top of everything. pursers desk was friendly and courteous. the park west gallery staff were great including the ships personnel from the orchestra and stage.

Ship Quality

lots of maintenance was going on and while ship was ported a lot of outside areas were closed. some elevators were down for refurbishment and some were very questionable. this was the smallest carnival ship we have been on but it was very comfortable. the staff were constantly cleaning and other than some children getting ill do to parents lack of supervision there wasn't any ill people.

Cabin / Stateroom

this was the smallest balcony room we ever had. it was a pulman and my sister stayed in the pulman bed. she said the bed was ok. overall the room was comfy but it was a little more crowded than usual. this room had been refurbished and updated. it took us 45 min. to find the thermostat for the airconditioner. it wasnt on the wall. its on the ceiling vent. the a/c heat worked great.
