Was a great overall first cruise. Now that I’ve been and experienced it my next cruise I’ll take into consideration all the things I didn’t think of this time around.
Tip: if you’re going back and forth about the drink package - get it. It’s worth it, even if you aren’t a heavy drinker. Most mixed drinks are $10 and up beers about $7.
Watch what you are signing when they have you sign your sign and sail receipt. We had one person try and pull one over on us in the comedy club.
Otherwise great trip

Little bit of waiting, but once the line started moving it, it went quickly. I can see the wait outside being hot in the summer time
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I dined in the dining room almost ever night and did the sea day brunch on sea days and buffet on port days and the last evening. The food was pretty good, steak really tender. The buffet was good/ok. I’d eat it again but probably wouldn’t write home about it. Guys burgers was decent. I never got to try the pizza pirate or the blue iguana. Overall it was good food. They did a great job for serving 3000 people over a 5 day period
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
There wasn’t a whole lot to do on this ship other than pools and small mini golf course and basketball. I was sort of expecting more but I also didn’t pick the ship because of these types of activities so I wasn’t complaining
Entertainment

Magic show was pretty cool! Comedy shows were ok. I took some naps out on the decks ha ha.

Cabin / Stateroom

My cabin was on of the ones redone so I was happy about that. I only caught a whiff once of the poo smell everyone keeps going on about . The location of my room I felt little ship rocking which helped because I got a little seasick.
We elected to go to Mr. sanchos here. My only complaint was it wasn’t long enough. I walked in sat at the beach and never saw the rest of the place 🤣. Loved it!
I see so many horrible reviews about this port and it’s not bad at all. I mean it’s mexico.... heck New Orleans is a dirty city if you want to get technical about it. If your looking for a resort town, this isn’t it, but the people are very nice and it’s a pleasant place. Yes everyone asks you to buy stuff but they leave you alone if you just keep going. Once they get you in the store they leave you in peace as well and let you look and are willing to bargain. I would come here again.
Earlier than usual, felt rushed and then ended up dragging my suitcase down stairs ( yes I elected to carry mine off) but didn’t count on the elevators all being packed
What room did you have. I’m going in Jan and I’m curious as to what they look like and if mine will be updated. I’ve been on the triumph several times and it did need a face lift but it’s fun regardless.
