This was our first cruise and we really enjoyed the overall experience. We are definitely booking another cruise for next year and this will probably be our go to vacation plans for the foreseeable future. The food, service, staff and experience was great. We would definitely do Cozumel again but probably not Progreso. Nothing against the people but just was not our cup of tea.
Embarkation

We arrived a little before our embarkation time but were allowed to go ahead and board
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The dining room food was very good and the staff was excellent! The buffet, Guys Burgers, Pirate Pizza, Burrito and Taco Station and Breakfast Buffet were all very good. Be aware, if you aren't already, that soda is not included in your cruise cost and neither are alcoholic beverages. I do think they should have a few more choices for the inclusive drinks other than lemonade, unsweetened tea, water and coffee. I do understand that you can carry on a carton of soda and a bottle of wine or champagne but who wants to have to do that? Not a deal breaker, just my opinion.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The pools were good. The dance parties were pretty good although I don't dance much. The casino was good but we didn't spend much time there.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Cruise Director Simon London and DJ Saxy were great!! The New Wave Magic Show with Mark Bennick was outstanding but the Burlesque show with Mark Bennick was not good as I thought it was going to be. Maybe a little more skin from the dancers and it would've been great.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our dining room waiters, room steward and really all the staff were very helpful and very attentive!
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The rooms could use a little freshening up or maybe updating and some of the ship could use a little freshening of the paint but overall it was clean and nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The room was a good size to be interior. Our room steward, Ariel, always made sure we had what we needed or wanted. The room was clean when we boarded and was always cleaned by the time we came back in the eveing.
Ship tip
If you get to New Orleans earlier than your embarkation time don't sit around the airport or anything to kill time. Go to the ship because there is a line for early/late arrivals to embark.
Loved Cozumel! The ocean is so clear! We went to La Casa En Playa excursion and it was very good. The staff was great, the snorkeling was outstanding and the food and drinks were very good!
We went to the Sacred Cave Snorkeling expedition. We knew the bus ride was going to be an hour and a half both ways. The tour guides, Priscilla and Christine, were excellent and the people in the village were very welcoming and great. I enjoyed the cave snorkeling, my wife did not but, she is not much of a snorkeling person, especially in smaller spaces. If you have knee, hip or back problems that would keep you from feeling comfortable on small, narrow spaces then the cave snorkeling may not be for you.
If you don't like progresso just plan on 7 day cruises they go to cozumel and a variety of other locations. Progresso is my least favorite port as well.
