Review summary

Overall I don't feel I got a good value for the amount of money I spent both in onboard expenses as well as for the cruise itself. I wish that there were not so many hidden charges. I had some issues and wish they had been resolved a bit better.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
While they line you up multiple times, the lines move quickly and the staff is always very nice and efficient in getting you onboard in a hurry.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I was not impressed with the food on this cruise. I had a few issues. I actually received a side of bacon in their London Dining Hall in a bowl of grease and it was under cooked. I had waited 30 minutes for it. Then in the buffet cafeteria I waited another 15-30 minutes for fried chicken. So long that they actually started tearing down the rest of the buffet and my other food got cold. Beware of the Cheers program - you will pay taxes while in US waters at the beginning and end of your trip. This was not adequately explained.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The cruise director didn't have much going on.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I spent my time in the Piano bar with Brad and the waitstaff there. The service was excellent and the entertainment top notch.

Children's Programs

No children.

Cabin / Stateroom

My cabin and my steward were amazing.

Ship tip

Pick the Sunshine if you can. It seems to be a better and more fun ship.

Ports of call

New Orleans, Louisiana Did not visit port

I didn't really feel like this was a port of call...this is just where I boarded.

Cozumel, Mexico

I did not do an excursion and if you don't do an excursion forget having any time in the water. There is no beach to be had.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

4 out of 5
I did the Chicken Izta excursion here. It was ok. The sack lunch made me feel like I was on a high school field trip, but the ruins were amazing.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
This is always quick and efficient.

As Gil said..... Study and read before you cruise and you will not have any questions. Sounds like you are very hard to please.😎😎

I need help thinking of these hidden charges. Before cruising I know; daily gratuities, drinks have an extra gratuity charge, special restaraunts have special fees, BINGO - extra. Study/read before a cruise and you know this. I know I have left out more due to different cruise lines, but all costs should be known. Book a hotel room - oh, taxes are extra?? Book a flight - oh, TSA fees are extra? By a purchase online - oh, shipping is extra? etc, etc, etc!!!

Sorry you were disappointed. There is no other vacation that includes room n board n entertainment. No drinking n driving. No driving or gas to purchase. It is a lot less then land vacation
