Review summary

This cruise was a great value for the money. Weather was chilly en route to and from Cozumel and the seas were often pretty rough (obviously neither of these was within the control of Carnival.

We were first time cruisers and it would have been nice if there had been a TV channel that updated us on the sea conditions and how long the rough seas might last. Plenty of food and with not too much effort you could find some pretty tasty meals.

Embarkation and debarkation wasn't pleasant but considering they had 2,000 + passengers to get on board they did a pretty good job.

I do enjoy a game of blackjack. The casino was unbearable for me due to the cigarette smoke. It was not adequately ventilated. Don't plan on gambling if you don't enjoy the smell of cigarettes.

Cabin had more than adequate storage. Cabin was clean and comfortable. There are no thermostats, just an adjustable ceiling vent and with a little practice you can comfortably control the cabin temperature. I would recommend taking a night light, cabin lighting is too bright to sleep with. Outside balcony was very enjoyable, however, at night with the balcony light on, it would get hot and turn off and would take about 30 minutes to reset. We had to call maintenance twice because the tv would "freeze" and refuse to recognize the commands from the remote.

Ship tip

It will be late when your bags are delivered to your room, take essentials in your carry on.

Hi! I am cruising the Triumph April 29. Could you tell me which night in the dining room has the Escargot on the menu? Someone said the elegant night. My grandson really does not want to miss it and we had decided to do the escargot night only.
