Review summary

This was our first time on a cruise, and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff were absolutely amazing, and the food was to die for! This ship had amazing comedy shows and musical performances. If you haven't tried a cruise before I highly suggest trying this sailing. My one recommendation is to keep in mind the seasonal weather. We experienced some rocky waters while at sea, and I became aware that I am susceptible to sea sickness. I would highly recommend taking motion sickness medicine with you, just in case.

The location was nice. We had easy access to the main deck, but without too many people trafficking past our room.

I highly suggest planning to spend at entire day in New Orleans. There is so much to do and we did not have enough time.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

We booked a tour through the company AutoProgresso which buses people from the pier to Merida. We toured the Uxmal Ruins for about half the cost compared to booking through Carnival. Plan to be bombarded by vendors trying to sell you knock off items if you stay in town and choose not to do an excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

We had an absolute blast in Cozumel. We booked through Cozumel Excursions. We absolutely loved snorkeling and exploring the western side of Cozumel. We did a dolphin encounter as well. As much as I love dolphins, I wasn't as pleased with the experience and how much time it took from our other plans. I would suggest if you want to swim with dolphins then I suggest you plan to spend the entire time at Chankanaab. Chankanaab was interesting and we would have liked to explore it more, but we had other plans which were well worth it!
