Review summary

Was very disappointed with this cruise. Don't know why we even stop at Progreso

I will never go there again. The food was also disappointing on the ship. We had much better cruises in the past. At dinner asked for a glass of wine charged me $8.00 she poured me not even half a glass of wine.

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Progresso and would even repeat the same excursion. Progresso is very old, interesting and a lot of history. It's worth getting an excursion to learn about the area.

have been on 12 Carnival ships and never seen a child not having a great time.

I bring a bottle of wine on, pour glass in my room and bring with me to dinner. less expensive and I get how much I want at a time.

@bagger72...on Triumph they should have fun as well seeing how it's a bigger ship and has more for the kids to do. Triumph also has movie nights on the lido deck every night and they have a water slide! Happy cruising!! :-)

@crystalsmith324...I order wine with my evening meals on a cruise and really any time I go to a nicer eating establishment here at home as well and you never get the glass filled to the top. Wine is normally poured in a larger glass and only about 4 to 6 oz of wine....it's the norm.

We've been on the fascination with our kids and they had fun. Thanks

Oh...I have been on Triumph twice and altjough I didn't bring my son those 2 times it looked as if all the children onboard were having a great time! My son went with us for his first cruise tjis past December on Facsination and had a blast...he is 6.

Bagger72...with kids I would definitely do an excursion in Progresso. Progresso is authentic Mexico and for kids(and apparently some adults) seeing the beauty of the culture is not really appreciated. If you Just want to walk around then by all means do so and interact with the locals...it is really very nice learning about others. When I went we booked an excursion with shoreexcursioneer for an all inclusive beach day but our bus didnt leave till 10 so we had about an hour and a half to walk around the town...we had a great day!

I'm thinking of this ship for October 10th with 2 kids would they like the ship. Is there water slides? What is there to do at the port at Progresso

Not familiar with a wine pour are you? I do agree with Progresso but we loved everything about the Triumph including the food and service. Enough where she's booked for the 3rd time in August.

We didn't get off the ship in Progresso enjoyed laying by the pool had it to ourself most of the day. But loved everything else. Booked this ship for next may again.

That's usually a pour for a glass of wine, unless the glass is really small. Most places pour 4-6oz, and use a glass of 12-20oz. Where I work we pour 6 oz, and use a 16 oz glass. Sorry to hear about the rest of the cruise though.
