The only negative comment I have is when we were sailing back. We hit the tropical storm Bill. NO one was informed of the weather. Pools were smaller than expected. Service, food and accommodations were great!" Lot's of fun activities on board, especially since it rained more than 1/2 our trip.Ship experiences

I just want to suggest that you give cruising another chance. We have been on 52 cruises now and we love it. Someone cooks for, you choose what to eat, they do the dishes, they drive you from destinations to destination. While you are gone they make your bed and clean your room. You get to lounge around a pool, albeit a small one or take a tour. Then they entertain you at night. Please realize that each passenger comes with preconceived ideas of what good food tastes like, what entertainment and music they want to hear, etc. Yet the cruiseline has to please everyone. It is almost impossible but I honestly think that they do a good job. Would I want to cook for all those passenger? Not my idea of a fun job but they do it every day. If you take another cruise, please write another review. We'd all like to hear from you.

Hi Jana! You have a fantastic attitude for travel – the unexpected should be an adventure, not a bad thing! We’ve ended up having some amazing experiences because things didn’t go as planned.
Keep us posted on what your next trip will be here in the cruiseline.com forum and I’m sure we we’ll come up with plenty of tips, hints and advice for you!

STXearl- I definitely understand your disappointment. We were hyped up as well, but no one hyped us up but ourselves. We booked the cruise fully aware that there is always a possibility of rain and possibility of the excursion being cancelled due to rain. Although we was disappointed we were not able to experience the excursion, we made the best of this situation as possible. My boyfriend speaks Spanish fluently so we weren't bothered by exploring other areas on our own. In fact we found the most amazing taco stand with the most delightful people!
I'm sorry your trip was not as expected. Maybe next time.you cruise the expectations won't be as high as to limit any disappointment. We were lucky. We had a great time despite the rain...Thank goodness for the sports bar, ha!!

@janashelton...Glad to read that even though the weather wasn't favorable for your cruise, you kept an open mind about your cruise and had a fairly good time. We sailed the Triumph about 8 years ago and had a great time. To add to "glomarrone's" post of the pools, please keep in mind that the pools are part of the design of the ship. Meaning that since they are topside and hold a lot of water (which is heavy) they account for balance of the ship during the design of the ship. The more water (pools/size), the more unbalanced they become dependent on the size and width of the ship. The Triumph was built in 1999 and is a somewhat smaller vessel compared to today's ultra-megaliners. I hope your next cruise will be more to what you expect.

@ STXearl... So let's see...the rain, CARNIVALS FAULT! Tropical storm Bill...CARNIVALS FAULT! Failing to pack for the possibility of bad weather when traveling abroad yet the cruise line offering to sell you cover if you wished to go on land...CARNIVALS FAULT! The ship listing due to bad sea conditions...CARNIVALS FAULT! YOU WERE ON A CRUISE!!! Who could have POSSIBLY IMAGINED these events may happen!!! A hint...stay on land!!!

Welcome to the world of cruising. Thanks for writing your first review here. All outside pools on cruise ships are small. They take up a lot of deck space so they need to be small to permit seating around them for passengers. It was great that the poor weather that you encountered didn't not affect the great rating that you gave your cruise.
