Review summary

Things have changed in ten years. The quality of the service and food has declined dramatically on Carnival. But overall, we had a good time. Excellent family vacation.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Portions in the dining room were small and food quality was hit or miss. The drinks were GREAT!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
What you would expect.

Children's Programs

1 out of 5
Although the staff were excellent with the children the activities were meagar and not always age appropriate for 6-9 year olds.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Good service, not great.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Captain steamed slowly and much more motion than on prior cruises. I have concerns regarding the mechanical maintenance of this vessel. There was a constant vibration aft, and even though the sea state was relatively calm we had significant motion throughout. Doubt stabilizers were deployed.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had a suite, which I strongly reccomend if trvelling with children comfortable for a family of 4.

Ports of call

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Lobster and Lighthouse was excellent!

Saint John, New Brunswick

The Bay of Fundy/ Hopewell Rocks is a 2 hour ride each way for 1 1/2 hour visit. If you don't make it at low tide, you're wasting your time and money.

Pros: The price of a penthouse suite was reasonable

Cons: Quality of the food
