Review summary

The ship itself was nice, clean and open. Our room was a little outdated and had some things falling apart. Everything was easy to find, but not a lot of diversity of things to do. The spa was nice, but was very basic. The restaurants were average, our wait staff had an attitude of not wanting to be there most nights. But the food was bad. Bad, bad, bad. So bad, we would have paid $30 for a simple McDonalds burger! We could do better if we burnt food in our own home.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

1 out of 5
Variety, options, and the food itself was bad. The prime rib was dry and overcooked (rare should have some red in it), the lobster was very bland and soaking it in butter didnt make it much better. The buffet had no variety of food (bologna?), and seemed to be the same day after day. The extravagant midnight buffet just dressed up the normal stuff with fancy words, and had alot of tofu. The deserts, if they had chocolate, had the fake chocolate. Like the dieters 1/2 the fat, cholesteral, etc chocolate. Extremely dissapointed in the food. First cruise we've been on where we might have lost weight instead of gained.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Room stewards were very helpful and friendly. Any staff we passed always said hello, good morning, evening. But the casino staff most nights seemed bored with what they were doing.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Everything was well laid out, maps of the ship were everywhere. The 2 main pools and buffet are in the center of the ship, so not hard to orientate yourself if you find that.

Cabin / Stateroom

Our balcony room was very nice, large bathroom, open layout with a couch. The balconys are straight up and down (not staduim style) so there was privacy from people above and below. The style did seem a bit outdated with pink and purples, but the bed and linens were very comfortable for a cruise or hotel.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

The shoping was ok, the beaches were still somewhat under repair from a hurricane in 2005. Nothing that great, but nothing that bad.

Ocho Rios, Jamaica

Dunns river falls is almost a definate atleast once. If your up to it, you can walk up the falls (not beside it like in the us). Beware of a lot of people trying to sell drugs all over the island (even the dunns river employees). And everyone is trying to sell you something (even our tour guide).

George Town, Grand Cayman

The turtle farm was fun, but not an all day event. The sting rays were nice to look at but didnt like them coming out of nowhere and rubbing against me. Very pretty and well taken care of island.

Pros: the balcony room

Cons: the food
