Review summary

We purposely cruised without children and respect those who did. We all encountered issues of unsupervised children running around (even after supposed curfew). Then after hours, 2-3 am, running down hallway. Some adults very loud as well. Children overtook the pool from morning to night… if curfew imposed, maybe more adults could have enjoyed the pool after hours.

Very clean; loved the lights and decor; everything flowed together beautifully!

Cabin / Stateroom

My husband and I had an interior cabin. It was clean and very comfortable for the two of us! The cabin steward had decorated my room for my birthday! I loved the “towel animals” each day.

Ship tip

Find an adult only cruise or at least one that enforce a children’s curfew.

Welcome to the wonderful world of cruising. Appreciate your detailed review. Agree with the comments regarding the time of year to sail. You probably got the last “hurrah” for the Summer. Also agree that Carnival should do better at enforcement of curfew and age minimum rules. Glad you mostly enjoyed your first cruise.

There were a bunch of teenagers in the Serenity hot tub on the Sunshine a couple weeks ago. No one from Carnival was around to make them leave. All but one of them could pass for 21, but they were talking about how old they really were. And something happened there involving those kids that I won't discuss on this site, but I reported it to Carnival so they might hopefully keep a better eye on certain things.

We just got back from a Carnival cruise. We never had problems with kids, because we choose longer cruises and not summer, etc. This was to Greenland and Canada. Cruise in the fall.

If you want less kids in the pool then cruise with Royal that has the Solarium (adults only) pool or another line geared towards adults like Celebrity or Princess.

N fyi carnival always has a ton of kids because it's the most affordable cruise line.

I would def recommend celebrity we cruise with our kids but when we go alone we cruise in Dec when it's less kids and we prefer celebrity, it may be 50 on there.

That's why we don't cruise during summer break, or holidays. Also it's always worse on shorter cruises. Glad you still enjoyed your cruise
