Felt like what I would imagine a "prison camp" would feel like. We were optimistically skeptical...going on a ship that had been substantially flooded just days prior to our sailing date. Not to mention the passenger "falling overboard" and remaining lo
Carnival Sunshine Cruise Review to Caribbean - Bahamas
We won't sail with Carnival again, even if extra driving or flying to get to and from port is involved. Very disappointed in the overall quality, especially since we were so excited and had spent months paying toward.
Embarkation
2 out of 5
Much like a cattle call...lines, heat, etc.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Concentrated (very) drinks were the "unlimited option (without paying additional through-the-roof fees), seafood entrees should be a given (however, one night was raw, one was WAY over-cooked, and one I sent back because the bones left int he dish cut my mouth). UNIMPRESSED, to say the very least.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Over-priced...nothing is included as they purport - EVEN BINGO cost us over $50 for one hrs worth of play. Lines for other shows were over an hour and 1/2 long and when we got to front after WAITING THAT LONG - we were turned away due to no more seating - 4 NIGHTS.

Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Most were fine - the person that went WAY above and beyond for us was Brittney Groenewald in Guest Services - PHENOMENAL. We almost requested leaving the ship at port - she saved us, AND a portion of your reputation. She should be not only applauded, but compensated for retention and quality - more than that, COMPASSION.
Ship Quality

CLEARLY a geriatric ship. WE WERE TOLD THAT IT WAS VERY MUCH OVER-BOOKED, BY ALMOST 1000 PASSENGERS (NOT INCLUDING CREW). HOW DID THIS PASS INSPECTION??????????????????
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Out initial cabin was to house 4 ppl (2 adults - 6'2", 5'11") and (2 children - 5'11", 5'8") - in ONE cabin. The cabin was on the very bottom of the ship (which was claustrophobic enough), very poorly maintiained, chipping paint, rusted metal, etc. was a panic attack waiting to happen. "Luckily" we were able to be moved to at least suitable rooms.
Got us off the boat in a hurry. Had to walk (rather briskly due to excessive heat) for at least 1 metric mile to our vehicle. Shuttles should be provided at no additional cost. PERIOD.
If you didn't cram 4 people into one cabin I think you would've had a better experience. If you decide to cruise again fork over the extra money for connecting cabins.
We've done sunshine twice I live in Florida we left port Canaveral first and the family loved it so much we sailed again when it moved to south Carolina sorry you had such a bad time
We enjoyed the Sunshine. You'll find bingo will cost that much or more on any ship. All the music, comedy and shows are free, I don't see why you said everything was overpriced. I think cruising isn't for you.
“EVEN BINGO” always costs money - do you get to play bingo on land for free? I would advise you to research the cabins next time. Saying they can sleep 4 people may be technically true, but that is completely different from being able to sleep 4 people and still have plenty of room for them all to move around and not feel crammed in.
