Overall we enjoyed our cruise very much. The ship is older but kept up nicely.
Casino was just ok for us, it was smoke filled in many areas, and lacked the fun games we usually play.
Entertainment was great, our activity director Leon was great. Lots to do.
Pools small and walking/jogging outdoor track did not go the entire length of ship.

Onboard Activities

Pools are very small on this ship as compared to other cruise ships, we have been on. Staff working these areas very helpful, and surrounding area around the pools are kept up nice.
We were disappointed with the casino because the Keno games we play were not available and only two types are offered. There are 12 Multi Game King slot machines and only 2 of these offer the other variation of Keno called Cleopatra Keno. All the rest have just the straight Keno game which is really boring for us.
If we cruise again on the Carnival Sunshine, will wait for the Atlantis Casino to gamble. The Atlantis is smoke free too. The Atlantis Casino had the same type Multi Game King slots. Their Multi Game slots offered much more. They had five or six variations of Keno, such as Cave Man Keno, Powerball Keno, Multi card Keno, and more, in addition to the other usual games such as Blackjack and Poker.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Comedians and other shows we saw were very entertaining and fun.
Children's Programs
No children with us.
Service and Staff

Very friendly crew everywhere.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Older ship but nice. The Limelight Lounge was a little small to accommodate the popular shows. Lines were VERY long.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Room seemed a little noisy, probably the air flow through the vents.
Ship tip
Pricing varies greatly. If you see a price that you like book it. Their website however continues to offer the same great price on a booking even though that price is no longer availble.
Just enjoyed the beautiful beach area and waters. Bring an umbrella for the sun as there aren't many shaded areas on the beach. You can always rent a clam shell if they are still available.
My husband and I took a very first Carnival cruise on the Sunshine in June of 2018. We had a great time. Our cruise director is Mikey and it was very good. All in all it was fun no pun intended. Our ports of call were Aruba, Curacuo and Grand Turk. We have been to all three on other lines. The whole key of cruising is to sit back relax and just enjoy yourself.
