Had a good time and was happy to get away and relax for a few days but probably won’t cruise again for a little while. Not my favorite cruise I’ve been on.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Literally took us about 20 minutes to check in and be on the ship. Just be prepared to go thru about 3 different check points before making it to the gangway (check in terminal, security, boarding pass scan line). Still doesn’t take too long though. Also loved how they have started doing the safety briefing. Very quick and easy.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Not the best I’ve had on a cruise. You can definitely tell the quality has gone downhill in the past few years. The food delivery through the app was a nice feature though.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
There was certainly plenty to do. Shows, trivia, games….etc. You could almost never be bored.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We enjoyed the comedy shows, love and marriage show, and deal or no deal was fun to watch(we didn’t purchase the cards to play along). We also didn’t see any of the playlist shows cause we ended up being pretty sick both of those days so decided to stay out in the fresh air.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Overall the staff were wonderful! I very much appreciate how hard they work and how they always do their best to go above and beyond for anyone they can. I personally couldn’t work the jobs they have with a smile on my face the whole time.
Our room steward, Jayson (Cabin 11006) was wonderful. Always addressed us by name and made sure we had everything we needed.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
You can start to tell she is an older ship. The ship always seemed very clean to me though.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The wallpaper was starting to peel, one of the cabinet doors was broken, a few of the lights didn’t work, and the bathroom door was really squeaky. The beds were comfy though and the bathroom was a bigger size than we expected.
Ship tip
We purchased the middle wifi package (forgot the name of it) and it worked quite well for most things we needed. Was very pleased with it.
Never been a huge fan of Nassau. A lot of construction going on right now so kind of confusing to navigate at first. Also don’t love how you are constantly bombarded to buy things and followed around while you are trying to shop. Just part of the experience though. We also had booked an excursion through the cruise line and it was wonderful. One of the best excursion I’ve ever done and worth the money. The staff of blue lagoon island were wonderful and very organized.
Booked a cabana and were some of the first off the ship. They will also shuttle you to your cabana or villa which is nice. It was kind of unorganized once getting to the island because if you have an excursion you have to go wait in line and check in at the excursions desk and it takes a little bit. We were in line though like they told us to do and then everyone with cabanas or villas got called back out of the line and told to go check in with someone else. So it was very confusing and unorganized. The cabana was nice though. Clean, stocked with snacks and drinks, snorkel gear provided, A/C, a shower, table, water mats, and lounge chairs. We didn’t have to walk far for lunch either so we took it back to our cabana. It was a beautiful sunny day and the water was warm enough to enjoy.
We chose to carry off our luggage which I like because you don’t have to put it outside the door the night before. However, they disembark you by deck or luggage tag numbers so if you are on a higher deck (we were on 11) you are going to have a later disembarkation time and be one of the last groups off weather you carry off or pick up your luggage down in the terminal. Unless of course you are a platinum or diamond member then it’s different.
